I have a vintage Singer but getting it up to speed is only for a spec and big occasions, and after having no luck with big Brothers and new Singer tabletop machines, I settle on this one. Overall, I would say this beginner's sewing machine is certainly usable. I ordered this sewing machine for my granddaughter, and I could definitely teach her to sew basic techniques using this machine. I cheated and had my mom help set up looping the thread through. That's always been the most challenging part for me. But this works super well as far as I can see.
