The voice and pictures only works on the tripod. The pegs that con ectopic the camera to to tripod broke the first day. The pictures are very blurry. It's a cute concept, but I can't recommend this toy.

Not sure if I just got a bad product but mine won’t turn on even with new batteries. Worked for 1 day and my kids loved it and I loved seeing them play it. But not worth the buy because it only worked 1 day.

The wildlife talking camera is an excellent learning toy! My kids (ages 5 and 6) were both able to easily navigate through the buttons to learn all about various animals. I love that it also includes a map as this has helped teach them world geography along with facts about animals. The pictures are high quality, the camera is the right size for them, and the facts and quizzes are interesting g and challenging enough to keep them engaged. This is a great toy for independent play. It can really only be used by one child at a time when it is in fact mode since only one person can see the picture

Its really cute! I loved it for my son whos obsessed with the Kratt Brothers and animals. Its a very educational toy that is still really fun for kids. I will say that there are some functional issues. It takes 3 AAA batteries, but the screw for the panel is super tiny. I had to use the screwdriver for my glasses to open the panel. Also, the screen only works if the camera is connected to the base. So if you want to interact with the camera, it has to be secured to the base.Overall, good gift for a 5 to 7 year old with a high interest in animals.

Purchased this, as well as the Geo Talking Microscope, November 2023. Microscope was given to 6 yr old grandson for Christmas, and I was holding the talking camera for Easter.Luckily, before I put this item in his Easter bag, I opened, set up/installed batteries & put the legs on to make this immediately workable for him. Didn’t work. Replaced the new batteries I had installed with more new batteries. (& I can see one peg already cracking). Still didn’t work. Based on other reviews with similar issue & no response from anyone, I’m going to consider this a big DUD, and a big learning experience

This is not our first Educational Insights purchase (thanks shelter in place!) and we continue to be pleased with their products! It is well constructed and sturdy, easy to use, and a great design overall. It looks just like a camera and after some working with it is easy for my 4.5 y.o. to use and interact with independently. She is on the lower end of the recommend age and it shows sometimes (I'll list them in the cons) but she still really enjoys it and it gives me some time to do something else and have her be independent. My almost 5 year old son loves all animals and this talking wildlife camera has kept him engaged every morning since we received it. He loves learning facts and information about animals and this was a book come to life! He has taken this anytime we left the house. I can tell how engaging it is for him because he will tell me what he learns and later tell others.The eyepiece is really soft and flexible too! The camera is not too heavy.
