Using this cutting wheel on the DeWalt DCG418 is a distinct pleasure. It cuts stupidly quick, cleanly and lasts a long time. Added bonus is the grit on either side of the disc about 0.125" down from the proper cutting edge that allows for some versatility in shaping sheet metal that a composite disc just can't match. Added bonus is not having to taste the composite disc as it wears away while you work (even with a mask). Great product worked better than expected, I honestly thought it would fail after a few cuts, But i was truly surprised as to how many pieces if 3/16 , 3/8 and 1/4 inch steel i was able to cut with this 1 wheel, during my offset smoker build, honestly this thing may achieve 5000 cuts as advertised, only time will tell. :-)

I have tried various other brands and have always been disappointed. This unit has impressed me. I cut mostly mild steel at least 5/16 thick and this blade cuts it all very well. Still slightly slower than a fiber wheel but much more rigid and durable. I use this exclusively now and have made at least 200 cuts with it. I WILL wear this one out and will definitely buy it again.Update: I finally wore this out after 3 months of fairly hard use. It is still better than others I have tried. Heck of a blade! I needed something to slice a broken solar module into small sections. The blade needed to cut through the plastic backsheet, the silicon solar cells, the metal interconnect, and (toughest of all) the tempered glass frontsheet. It cut through them all like a hot knife through butter. (The angle grinder is a DeWalt DWE402W; also highly recommended.)I've also used it on fiberglass (the thick resin-bead tank from a water softener) and plastic (the brine tank from the same softener). It shows no signs of getting tired.

I bought this to cut steel, and it's been a great upgrade over traditional abrasive cutoff wheels. It cuts cleanly with very little effort, doesn't keep getting smaller as you use it, and lasts dramatically longer.I've used it on several projects already, and it's still performing like it's almost new. The thin kerf makes for fast, clean cuts, and I appreciate not constantly stopping to replace worn-out cutoff discs.As with any cutting wheel, you still need to let the tool do the work and avoid twisting it in the cut, but if you use it properly, it's an excellent investment.I'll definitely be

Cut soft steel much faster than traditional cutting wheel in side-by-side comparison, with a lot less sparks.Made about 50 cuts through ~1/8” stiff fencing I use for tomato and cucumbers trellis. Much stiffer stuff than tomato cage wire, would require bolt cutters otherwise.Going to switch all my cutting wheels to this type of material.
