Fein Starlock Plus 22-Piece Accessory Set

I am a Fein tool owner I love the tool its self..... The old school one I still have the rubber sanding profiles...this product is cheap and worthless.... Basically, cork and it fell apart while sand and putting the sandpaper on was no fun task either..... I jumped the gun and disposed of the packing or i would have sent it back. Don't waist your money!!!

About time someone came up with an awesome sander that I can get underneath the kick plates with little disappointing that it didn't come with a hose cuz I'm having a hard time finding one but whoever designed this product I'd like to buy that guy a beer or girl thank you guys hardwood floor guy

This kit is a disappointment to me. The cork forms over which one places the supplied sandpaper are VERY difficult to get into the holder because the holder is just a giant, plastic spring clamp. It takes a LOT of force to get the clamp open wide enough for the cork form/paper to slide into the clamp and it's tough to get the cork into the clamp while maintaining the positioning of the sandpaper wrapped over the cork. The device is also pretty wasteful of sandpaper as most of it is used to hold the paper into the clamp and gets tossed out when the small portion that sits over the working end o

I had bought the original profile sanding set which was terrible. The unit could not hold the sandpaper and profile while sanding; it would fall apart. The new profile sanding set functions much better in that it holds together during sanding operations. However, the unit is very cheaply made and it is really difficult to load the sandpaper. The profiles are made of cork which are not likely to be durable over time. Good thing is I was able to more custom shape them; could not do that with the original hard material. These ultimately do what they are intended for. I have a massive amount of oak trim to handle in a big historic house remodel, with lots of runs of concave and convex features. The forms provided fit my need pretty well. The biggest drawback is that the clamp is REALLY TIGHT and it is a lot of work to change the sandpaper and get the form and the sandpaper re-seated. Given the small working area, the sanding medium has to be changed very often. Pretty much impossible with two hands to change the sandpaper while the clamp is attached to the tool. I was almost shocked to see this item from Fein as their products made in Germany are robust and very high quality. It's obvious that Fein does not care about this product as they farmed it out to China and it is really, really poorly made. The mount is plastic and the Cork inserts do not even fit properly. I could go on and on, but simply put stay away from this item. I returned it.

This is a poor substitute for the original . However. if you have the original with rubber blocks ,the blocks will fit the newer version.The original will not fit newer stalock plus version. If you really need this try to find an older version with the rubber blocks and then purchase the new one. Otherwise I would give it a one or two.

Garbage!! The profiles are made of cork and start breaking apart as soon as you insert them into the holder. You cannot adjust the sandpaper to utilize more of it after sanding for a minute or so. The holder is one piece plastic that feels like it will likely break with minimal use. It really takes 3 hands to insert the profile and sandpaper into the holder. I cannot believe this is a Fein product!!!
