A couple weeks ago, our fridge started exhibiting problems that gradually got worse and worse.The first symptom was that we sometimes had to try a few times to get the fridge to dispense ice. After two years of listening to an incessent whine caused by the fans spinning at the wrong speed, I looked online for a solution. I came upon a solution that involved replacing the fan and temperature control board. The original causes the fans to spin at a harmonic speed which makes them whine as they operate. I installed this new control board and was immediately relieved. My model GSH25JFRFBB GE fridge recently started displaying the typical signs if board failure. Started with the fan howl like a ghost is in the machine. Then a few months later the ice maker quit putting out solid cubes and would only work in crushed mode. When I woke up to find water on the floor in front of my GE refrigerator I was depressed as I did not want to purchase a replacement and certainly do not trust appliance repair folks. A quick search of appliance troubleshooting tips all seemed to indicate the main circuit board was the likely culprit.
