It doesn't come with instructions, but most of what you need to know is right on the listing. Once switched on, it only works when the sensor sees light, and immediately quits when dark again. It does have 8mb of memory and acts like a flash drive when you plug it into the computer (using the included cable). So someone gave me a R2D2 Star Wars trash can that has a lid that opens with a foot pedal. We have a Star Wars themed kitchen and as of yet, we have not really decided what to use the trash can for, so we just store plastic shopping bags in it for the moment. But I thought it would be really cool to have it make droid noises when you step on the pedal and open the lid. It seems to work perfect! My only wish is that you could put multiple sound files on it, and then have them play randomly each time you open the lid. I'm sure something out there can do that, but I haven't found a way to do that

Made some custom music boxes for my family for Christmas and they loved them. The speaker isn't super loud though. The description says that the volume is adjustable but I didn't notice a big difference when adjusting it. The description also says that it's rechargeable but mine came charged so I didn't test if it was actually true.
