This really does the job, it's like a motorised hacksaw because it uses the same blade material that cuts wood, plastic and bi-metal I'll just buy some batteries to go along with the Milwaukee we have. It works best for cutting and sanding at gear six and I really like the method of swapping blades, feels sturdy and works well.

This is one of four oscillating tools I own: two corded and two using batteries. The two corded models are well known premium brands, the other battery operated tool is an older but essentially identical version of the tool reviewed here. I use all of them more than I ever anticipated when I bought the my first corded one. They've seen action under the dash of my Jeep cutting out heater cores and outdoors cutting out mortices in fence posts filled with nails. What I have found overtime is that my battery operated one (now to be two) better fits with the kinds of projects these tools excel at.
