I intended to purchase a 5.1 system, specifically the Bose® Lifestyle® V35 home entertainment system--Black, but was not excited about having to run wires to my rear speakers. I live in a condo and due to the shape of the room and furniture layout the wireless option did not work due to power supply issues. I was going to have to fish the wires through the walls. This is not a 5.1 system and never will be. That said, I have a very challenging room that is 25 ft by 12 feet with the layout such that a corner position for the TV / entertainment console is the only thing that works (windows, French doors, and a fireplace on the three sides without the couch are pretty much unchangeable). So for me, a 5.1 system would always be a challenge, and with hardwood floors, it would be ugly too (yes, there are some awesome wireless options, but they are very expensive for the ones that actually work well). So many people criticize Bose, I don't know why. Personally, I believe it is because they are people that need to be out of the mainstream and or are cheap. Either way, this system sounds fantastic, and is worth the money. First, the remote is very nice and easy to use. The console is very easy to install with onscreen instructions throughout most. BOSE is really reliable for me, so I expected this would have good performance.And I realised I was rigth.Regardless only two speaker this system has, sound is really great, especially bass tone.The only disapointed thing was that this system needs to television with HDMI interface to display operation.I still don't have that TV, so I have a trouble every time I start up the system.This system is good for person who don't have enough space in their home.In this meaning this system is excellecnt for me.I really appreciate to BOSE good job.

This system was easy enough to hook up but I am disappointed in the sound.My tv is 8 feer away and most of the time I have the sound turned up really high to hear it. When the commercials come on, I have to turn it down.Currently my cable box is hooked up directly to the tv. I cannot tell any difference in the sound but don't have to crank up the volume to hear it.This is an expensive piece of junk and I will give it away.I will never buy another Bose product.

This is the most expensive 2.1 home theater by a wide margine yet does not offer HDMI 1.4. This means it is incapable of processing a 3D signal for passthrough to the TV. Simply unacceptable for a system of this price when others offer this functionality for 1/8 the price!UPDATE: Bose has released an update to allow passthrough of 3D content. However it is still lacking other great features of HDMI 1.4 such as ARC (Audio Return Channel). Updated from 1 star to 3, will go to 5 if this system is ever released with true HDMI 1.4 compatibility.

Bought this instead of 3-2-1 because this unit has many inputs to connect vcr, dvd, wii, tv audio, and ipod.Has several HDMI conncections so can even connect computer. I havae used my other bose system in another part of the house for 12 years and feel like the cost averages out. Company has always been there with solution to problems. Disappointed that I could not play cd's but unit came with dock and connection for ipod . I just had to update my life and get an ipod and convert all my cd collection. Great unit for moving forward.
