I used these in two different applications. The traditional flat style easily removed grout from between tiles, prior to demolition - and did a great job. I used the tomahawk style to cut some HardieBacker - and although it required multiple passes - it gave a nice clean cut. Overall - no complaints - both blade styles worked like a charm!
I'm removing old grout from the floor of a tiled shower. 4'x7' with 1" tiles, so tons of grout to remove. Too big of a job for this blade, but I used an angle grinder for the vast majority. This tool attached to my Makita oscillator was perfect for getting the last inch or so against the walls where I couldn't reach with the circular blade without damaging the wall tiles. Made quick work of the grout, but the blades are thin so you have to use care not to put too much pressure on the tool while cutting. Let the tool and the blade do the work. Good value for the money. Good durability.
Used them to cut out some tile along the grout joints to access a shower valve. Cut through the grout and backerboard and also a marble border. The marble was slower going but they did a nice job. A grinder with a diamond wheel would have been much faster but creates clouds of dust.
Cuts fast, but wears down fast too
Wears out a little too quick. But does a good job while it lasts on plaster, soft bricks and soft cement.
Made short work of bathroom tile grout. Ate right through the old grout. Used straight and curved.
