I am not an audiophile, but I do value quality audio and I have a significant investment in home AV. I'm renovating a patio and looking for quality outdoor audio and it does not exist, IMO. I decided to buy this A9 to use on the patio and I could not be happier with the audio quality. I have other outdoor systems with multiple custom speakers and they do not fill the space with the same clarity and bass. It's almost too easy. Easy to set up and connect to Wifi. I still don't quite get the mystery buttons on the back but whatever. Filled a giant room in my house with deep yet crisp sound. Sounds great cranked up, but still retains depth at normal listening levels. In the words of Ferris Bueller "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

This speaker sounds great when it works but connectivity is idiotic - you have to download an app to connect instead of just searching on Bluetooth!

The beosound level has actually better sound than this unit at half the price. This is a beautiful piece great architecture and the sound is certainly good but nowhere near the value for the price. There is a crossover point between paying for a high-end feature and benefit of a product and the actual delivery of those features and benefits. The beosound level delivers 100%. Unfortunately, this unit just doesn’t.

Alright, first thing's first. If you're in the market for a Bang & Olufsen because either money is no object, you have a very high budget, or you have aesthetic and decorative concerns. If you are looking for the highest possible sound quality, with no other concerns, you might consider another option to save money. This high price tag isn't going toward all sound quality. I love the balance of the sound on this speaker. Unlike the previous versions, this one has bass power and just the right amount of treble and voice quality.
