I used the be quiet! Straight Power 12 1500W (BN518) to power my new AI server/gaming rig (Asus Z760-F motherboard, Intel 12th Gen i9, 128GB RAM, and an RTX 5700). Beast of a PSU. I bought this to power my 5090 build and to have some extra power available in case I upgrade to a dual GPU setup. Looks barebones, runs quiet enough - no fan whir. As far as I know this is the best value for money PSU at this price range that offers 1500W

This PSU is a solid option. It booted up my latest workstation build, running the AMD Threadripper 5955WX on the Asus WRX80E-SAGE WIFI motherboard with dual 3090s. The dual 600W PCIE connections are excellent. Highly recommend.

The included cables are also high quality with sleeves and plenty of them.

Zero issues with this PSU running my Msi Suprim Liquid 4090, now the same version of the 5090.12vHPwr cable for the video card makes a tight connection and has not failed me yet. 1500W Platinum ATX3.0It was fine until it killed two motherboards and a CPU in less than a month and they wouldn't RMA it. To quote them:"Please note our team has tested your be quiet! RMA and it passed our in-house test. In addition to the standard test, we also did a full eight-hour stress test, pushing this psu to max wattage. We will be shipping back your (Straight Power 12 1500w) s/n (xxxxxxxxxxxxx) to the following address:"Sure, it passed their tests, but I dare any RMA tech at BeQuiet! worth their salt to tell me they'd trust *any* PSU that killed one motherboard - much less another *b

Supplies 1500w nicely. be quiet! uses different cables, so I had to basically rebuild my system to use it, but that's to be expected.The down side - when mounted in my chassis (a fractal design r6), and only when mounted in the chassis, the fan has a notable and annoying rattle. There's nothing impinging on the fan blades, but somehow it is off balance enough to rattle. This is rather disappointing for a product branded as "be quiet!".Edit: Pulled the psu out and re-seated into the case agin. Rattle seems to be gone now.

This supply is great. However, the inrush current into this beast at power-up is so high that it brings the line voltage down far enough to momentarily trip my Cyber Power UPS...but only if the line voltage is 118v or below. If it's 119 or higher, the UPS won't trip. I tried to configure the UPS for a lower trip voltage, but it was already at the minimum of 80 volts. As well, I've got a huge tower case with the power supply mounted at the bottom and the motherboard 24-pin and two 8-pin cpu connectors are at the top edge of the vertically mounted board...and yet the cables that come with this s
