Poor Craftsmanship. If you are afraid of the blade, this blender is not for you. The blender's electrical unit under the blade will need to be cleaned under the blade daily; otherwise, it will smell bad by the end of the day. The instructions say that the blade unit cannot be submerged in water and should be cleaned carefully with a cloth. That's where it gets dangerous and very tedious. To drink from it, the flip lid will touch your face, and it's very uncomfortable to drink from it unless you use a straw. Easy to use and easy to clean. I rinse and clean immediately after use...following directions. Just one time I had a problem...I dropped in a whole banana and a large cube of mostly defrosted persimmon and not enough liquid because I had filled it too much already. So I had to restart a few times. Shaking and tilting the blender did not help. I got my smoothie...but I learned my lesson. Don't overfill with fruit. It needs enough liquid...or it will be too thick to turn...it just turns off on you.Fast and easy if you follow the rules.The bottom is supposed to come off if you want to clean...but
