The picture shows a nail cut with the metal blade.The LED light is pretty weak. I didn't even know it was on when working at my workbench. However, in a darker location, it may provide enough light to see what you're cutting.Changing the cutting blade works best if you turn the tool upside down to get a better view of the chuck and clamping mechanism.
