Dremel MM494B Oscillating Multitool Universal Pipe & 2x4 Blade

I inherited a Dremel tool and ALL the blades were as Dull as watching your aunt at a Mahjong table so it barely got used. I had a project where this tool would be perfect and got the blades. Needless to say, I will be using this tool MUCH MORE now that I have the blades to make it worth it.

Only had one problem trying to cut a bolt in half flattening the teeth (cut every other bolt just fine). For long cuts it will cut perfectly straight by virtue of the width but it’s best to hold it at an angle to get the maximum surface area of blade one the groove. If it’s having trouble digging move it in a sawing motion a couple times.

These blades cut through studs easily and are really wide so it takes less time when I need to notch the studs. I only been cutting through wood and havent tried any metals yet but the blades indicate its for metal and wood, so these will come in handy when I need to cut through studs with nails embedded. Only real issue I can find with the blade is that it doesnt fit my Dewalt XR multitool as the mount is too big for the blade, so I had to use them with my less powerful Ryobi. Regardless, the blades perform well and now I have a wide blade added to my arsenal.

As oscillating multitool blades go, these are among the beefiest in my collection. They've become the blade to reach for if I need to make quick work of something wider, but don't want to have to load a long blade in my reciprocating saw. I wouldn't try to demo a wall with one of these blades, as that would be impractical, but for sake of making quick work of cutting out a vent pipe buried in a wall, or for cutting free a two by four to enlarge a window opening or something like that, these blades let you do just that without too much fuss. All the notches line up for a universal fit but the 2 little nubs at the mouth of the part to slip over the multitool to attach it prevent it from actually fitting on my dewalt, Milwaukee, rigid, or mikita multitool. As such id argue this item is litterally a scam. It is designed to not fit on the most common brands despite claiming to be a universal fit

The cutting head is wide and the blades are surprisingly thin yet sturdy, but as others have stated the attachment to the multi-tool is proprietary, and designed to work with Dremel with no consideration for other major brands.They do make an adapter that screws into the nose of a Dewalt multi tool, which means the quick-change feature would be useless, and you would need a wrench to remove the screw to change the blade. If this is the only blade you plan on using this wouldn't be a problem, but I'm not going to waste a $10 blade chewing into material that could have screws in it when I have $
