Had to come on and write a review: I have an old Tappan gas stove that had been taking longer and longer to light and then would start losing heat mid-bake. Decided to risk $25 on this igniter rather than deal with getting the OEM replacement part ($150+), another old stove or, God forbid, a new stove.Part quality seems to be good, identical to the one being removed. Be prepared to watch a few youtube videos, and be aware that many of those videos reference clip connections rather than the ceramic wire nuts.I would recommend taking pictures of how everything looks before you take it apart.Not

I have a Kenmore oven from maybe 2005, this igniter fits great, works great. If you want to save money, and you have the patient to install this yourself, find a YouTube for your oven door, it helps so much for your model and this item’s installation. My husband said it wasn’t too bad, not as bad as under the kitchen sink tight areas.

Ordered this replacement igniter for my now 19-yr-old gas oven and it has worked well since December 2024. Today the oven stopped heating in the middle of a batch of cookies, then started working again later. This is the 2nd replacement igniter and except for the original which lasted well over 10 years they all seem to only hold up a few years. This time I might just purchase two of them, but try out a different seller.

SECOND UPDATE 3/21: Replaced with OEM due to error code repeating, old igniter still intact, error code happened again, replaced controller board under home warranty. Error code did not return.So I guess I have a spare igniter in case this one fails….But to reiterate, the controller board was the issue.Highly recommend a home warranty, saved me 150 bucks vice ordering the controller board standalone.UPDATE: preheats have been taking a while, 45 minutes to get to 450, hear the gas cycling and sometimes is slow to respond. this unit was well packaged, came with instructions and fit my frigidaire FGF326ASE. This replacement is a universal replacement part which differed from the original equipment in my stove. My stove had a 3 part connector. 1 wire plugged into the bottom corner of the stove behind a metal cover and a wire came off of that and plugged in behind the the flame on the floor. The other wire that comes off of the ignitor plugs in to the other side of that safety to complete the circuit. The new ignitor has to be connected to the harness described above by cutting the wire on the old harness that plug
