I wanted a cordless mouse but did not one that would take up the only USB port on my tablet, which I use like a laptop with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. This is a great mouse. I have a partly disabled hand and using the mouse pad on my laptop is sometimes problematic. The M535 mouse is about the same size and feel as the M525. I got the new one because I wanted bluetooth connection (M525 has a USB dongle). The M535 uses only 1 AA battery. No problems with bluetooth pairing. The M535 case is not shiny – it has a slight texture; it doesn't slip off the armrest of my chair as easily as its predecessor did. The scroll wheel movement of the M525 was smooth, and I appreciated that; the M535 has detentes, which I don't like as well. I'm still getting used to it.
