This sponge holder is a substantial weight with no rough outer edges. The color is as pictured and contrasts nicely with the stone backsplash in my kitchen. The size works well for standard dish sponges, as well as decorative dish scrubbers like my cat one pictured.The only reason I marked it down a star was because the inside of the holder is very poreous, with many holes in the stone. I understand that stone is unique and variations are to be expected. However, the volume of holes honestly makes it look like it's dirty or that something spilled in it. This may also make it difficult to clean

I was not in a hurry to review the Malihoo Travertine Natural Marble Sponge Holder because I wanted to see how it would stand up to use. Since the stone is porous, I was not sure what would happen if it was constantly going though wet/dry cycles with being wet most of the time. I thought it might discolor or possibly mold but it has held up fantastically.
