I am really REALLY happy with this purchase so far. Although I did not get it for a child I can see where it would be a great starter machine that has some of the features most needed in my opinion. I should've read the poor reviews because that is exactly what this machine deserves. I have never used a sewing machine in my life but this machine is so simple to use with the different stitch settings and the needles are great, I got this machine to alter my pants as I am only 5ft and hated not being able to find short friendly pants. Picked this up mainly for quick fixes and small projects, and it does the job. It’s compact, easy to store, and surprisingly comes with a lot of accessories right out of the box which makes it very beginner-friendly. It’s straight-forward to use and works well for light fabrics, simple hems, and basic repairs. Great buy!

I was hesitant to buy this, but did so because it had 4 stars and I needed a small, portable sewing machine that wasn’t wildly expensive. I should have went with my gut this time. For starters, it’s loud. Like REALLY loud. But that’s not even the real issue. Once I got it set up and turned the power button to on, the machine started working on its own. Meaning, I wasn’t pressing the pedal at all and couldn’t stop the needle from going up & down. The only way to use it manually (as it should be used) is to turn the power off.
