    Supermicros are Super!!!

    I first discovered Supermicro several years ago. Their approach of having leading edge motherboards and compatible cases really appealed to me. When I needed to build a new computer to control my observatory, they were my only choice. Only caution is to go to their website to make sure the correct memory chips are used. The onboard M2 slot for an SSD Drive was a great plus that enhances the performance. Also room for a ton of memory.

    Tech support and RMA support from Supermicro is with out a doubt the worst I have experienced in all of tech. I paid what I considered a premium with the expectation of a high quality MB. It failed shortly after installation and I had to pay full shipping to return it for RMA. It has been weeks since I've sent it and I have not heard back from Supermicro.Truly awful -- making a customer pay to fix their defective product. I will never purchase from Supermicro again.I highly suggest you look elsewhere.UPDATE -- They just emailed me asking me to $50 (in addition to the $33 I spent shipping it ba

    Don't use for clustering

    Board has a hard-coded manufactor ID saying 'Must be changed by OEM" but Supermicro doesn't provide tools to change that. This means when you have multiple boards like I do, they show up with the same hardware ID, so DO NOT TRY TO USE THESE BOARDS FOR CLUSTERING. Otherwise, nice MB.

    A very nice board.

    I have been using one of these boards for a FreeNAS server for the last 18 months. No problems at all.
