These right angle adapter are great for smart/dumb TV's with HDMI ports near the sides of a TV. Plug in the 270^ adapter, and it makes pluggin in a HDMI cable a lot easier. 90 degree adapters won't work on the TV's I've seen, the plug on the adapter faces in to the TV. But the 270 degree adapters work perfectly, facing outward so a cable can be plugged in.
Works as intended. Make sure it is the correct orientation and size for your application.
What were flat panel manufactures thinking when they put HDMI pointing out? There weren't thinking. What was I thinking when I purchased these angle adapters? I wasn't thinking. Well I did think it would be great to take that tight bend out of the HDMI cables. I also thought these would work to do that. I was wrong.My application has the HDMI located in a recessed area in the body. Even if I was able to plug these in, they would be about 1/2" too short to clear the body of the TV. These will only stick out about 3/8".But nice to have around as they may be of use to me or someone else some day.
These worked great when I ordered the Fire TV Stick 4K that replaced an older, inoperable Fire TV 4K dongle. The stick did not fit into the recessed indent on the back of my TV - the stick was too long. But by inserting this first the stick sticks out from the back just fine. These will also protect your HDMI ports from plugging/unplugging cables all the time. Just insert one of these and leave it in all the time and plug your cables/accessories into the adapter. Make sure to check if you need a 270 degree angle or a 90 degree angle first. It is determined by the way the plug is mounted on you
