What size air fryer do you need?
For one or two people, a 4 to 6 quart basket is plenty. A family of four wants 8 quarts (the Typhur) or a 15 to 26 quart oven, which is where the Emeril and Cuisinart sit. Above 26 quarts you are cooking a whole chicken plus sides, or two dishes at once in a dual-zone like the HotKing. Bigger is not free: a 28-quart oven is about 16 inches wide and 15 inches tall, and it takes longer to preheat than a basket.
PFAS, nonstick and cleanup
Most air fryer baskets are aluminum with a PTFE nonstick coating. It is safe at normal cooking temperatures but scratches, and some buyers now prefer to avoid it.
