I'm an astronomer and I want to do some limited astrophotography by putting a camera on the back of a driven telescope. I bought an old Meade DS-2000 114m Newtonian, with an Autostar controller, strictly for this purpose. Back in the day, the DS-2000 was a really good telescope, with a reliable tracking system. The big problem is that it only took 8 AA batteries, with no option for ac, or even a 12v battery pack.I've been doing this for 30+ years now. I bought the telescope, which appeared to be in excellent shape, but untested, from shop Goodwill for $54 delivered. I wasn't disappointed. The

This works great! Has a bunch of connectors, so you can adapt to whatever the device needs. I would have LOVED a female to female adapter. As it was, I had to cut the wires and electrical tape them to the only female adapter in the kit. Still well worth the money, because it replaced a 5 aa battery load.

This is a really nice power supply, it is accurate, which I checked with the multimeter. It is versatile in that you can adjust the voltage from 24 V all the way down to 3 V. I lots of things sit on for a little bit and the voltage does not slide from where it is supposed to be so stability. Voltage is not even a question. It’s fine, all of the separate tips that are included will allow you to use this power supply with anything that you can possibly think of so don’t worry at all about current activity. Its does what it is supposed to do, small portable has many different wire attachments that came with it. Just wish it would of came in a carrier box for easier storage but overall I am ok with it.

Do not use for a home electronics lab or projects.This variable power supply although useful for basic uses has many 2 main issues:- cheap construction, the display starts coming appart after a few months.- the power supply is extremely noisy.For example setting it at 5V gives an output with a 5V mean, however the min and max are 3.7 and 6.4 volts respectively. There is about a 60 KHz voltage spike. This makes it useless for electronic projects.See pictures.

For the price and what comes with it this is the best little multi use power supply in a tiny form factor! It works exactly how I need it to and the included stuff is such a bonus in helping me fix some of my stuff I just made new plugs for it!It also doubles as a battery voltage meter if you unplug it with the knob still on lol I unhooked it the other day and saw it was reading 4.1 volts off the battery I was charging before I unplugged it from the wall! Definitely a cool feature not sure if it's supposed to do that but it's cool that it does! HahaCharges pretty quickly too anything I've used
