I recently upgraded to the ASUS Z790-AYW WiFi W II Intel Z790 motherboard and it’s been a fantastic choice for my build—setup was straightforward, the BIOS is user-friendly, and performance has been rock solid with my Intel CPU. The built-in WiFi works reliably, saving me from extra adapters, and the overall design feels premium with plenty of connectivity options for future expansion. It runs cool and stable even under heavy loads, and everything from gaming to multitasking has been smooth. Overall, it’s a dependable, feature-rich board that makes building and daily use hassle-free.

Overall great entry level motherboard, supports overclocking, and has nice aesthetics.My only criticism is there are no diagnostic BOOT led lights for troubleshooting (CPU, DRAM, VGA, BOOT) usually located on the top right center of most standard motherboards. These leds will usually guide you in the general direction if the main motherboard core functions aren't working properly.Still a worthy buy if you need an affordable entry or replacement motherboard.

Great for multi-GPU systems. If you want to run 4 sticks of DDR5 with XMP enabled, this board will do it.Furthermore you can run 4 GPUs quite easily, as It supports PCIe lane bifurcation on the top slot, two of the bottom slots are PCIe 4.0x4, and there is also a BIOS setting to enable m.2 to GPU adapters. I am running a Proxmox server with a i5-14600k, 64gb of Crucial DDR5 6400 and dual RTX 3090s. I have LGA 1700 motherboards from ASRock, MSI, Gigabyte, and this one wins the "it just works" award. The only annoyance is that Asus does not make it obvious how to disable secure boot in BIOS.

Absolute garbage board died in less than a week.

To maximize the GPU memory for local LLM inference I was able to connect three RTX 5060 TI cards. The third one is positioned 90 degrees to the first two (using a riser cable). Amazing!!
