The beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro is simply the best wired closed-back gaming headset I have used and while it can be expensive while not on sale, it offers superior sound quality to pretty much anything on the market. On PS5, I pair it with my Sound Blaster Play! 4, and PC, I pair it with my Sound Blaster ZxR sound card. The end result is a fantastic experience. It is not the most conformable headset I have ever used (that honor goes to the Sennheiser Game Zero or the Cooler Master MH751), but it is still pretty comfy. The sound quality was amazing, but the microphone was so quiet it wasn't usable. I read online that people were saying that you have to push the cable in with with a ton of force to get the mic to work. I literally tried pushing it in with pliers and it wouldn't go.These are super comfortable and have crystal clear sound, but if half of the functionality doesn't work they're useless.

Since these are studio headphones don’t expect it to be as plug and play. Do you yourself a favor and buy an amp. The build quality on these are great, that doesn’t mean they are indestructible. Remember it’s a headset it needs to be lightweight. Don’t take your headset off by one ear cup. Use it like an adult and it won’t break.

Well, this was an awesome headset, until it wasn't. I received my unit on 12/28/2025, and after setting up the proper EQ software and settings everything sounded great. The headphones had a wide soundstage and excellent bass, and the MIC sounded clear based on what all my friends mentioned to me while playing games. Unfortunately, yesterday I was told by my friends that they could no longer hear me in game. It’s incredibly comfortable for long sessions, and while the price is on the higher end, the quality fully justifies it. Really great headset! Good quality audio and comfortable to wear. The mic is also very clear audio. My biggest complaint is that the mic picks up LOTS of ambient audio and I constantly get complaints from teammates they can hear my TV in the background. Some of my old crappier headsets never had this issue.

If you read all the reviews about this headset like me, you will have expectations these are some out of this world headphones. They are just doing the job, nothing impressing. I have replaced with a Logitech Pro X with them and to be honest the sound is the same, but the MMX 300 Pro is less comfortable. Has better sound insulation though.
