Quite honestly, this danged grill makes my life so easy. We are about 90% carnivore, and I grill steaks for my wife and I on average 5 nights a week. This grill is so easy to use, sears steaks perfectly, cooks so quickly, and I spend far less time standing in front of a hot grill with this baby. I heat it up for a few minutes, put the steaks on the grill, and go inside and watch the news for a few minutes. So far, I have only cooked four of the best ribeyes I have ever had, but if you were to steal this from me today or if I broke it somehow this evening I would order another one later this evening, even at twice the price. It came very well-packaged which I'll get to in a moment, but first, it's well-built and well thought-out for the most part...and it works WONDERFULLY. Doesn’t sear edge to edge on rack because heater isn’t big enough to cover the entire rack therefore you must leave about an inch to 1 1/2 inches on every side empty2. Doesn’t come with grill cover3. This is essentially a propane fueled outside salamander. It contains two high temp infrared burners which together create a large surface of very high temperature. This allows searing of meat in a way and to a degree that isn't possible for me without it. If you cook using sous vide, you know you need a way to sear the meat to finish it at the end for a few minutes. This is the tool. It gets HOT. It claims 1500 degrees. Amazing, It takes it no time to cook! Steaks always come out super tender with a nice sear in 4 mins (2mins on each side). Hot burgers on your table in 2 mins.We realized that you have to play with it and lower the meats to the second notch otherwise you will have a very super seared piece of meat fast. I like that helps us from running the oven and making the place extra hot in the summer, plus no lingering grease and meat smells in the house.

The first unit lit normally, but after about 2.5 minutes it made a pop sound and started fluttering/pulsing. It continued running, but the burner/flame became unstable and would not recover.I contacted Big Horn customer service, but responses were slow, around 24 hours between messages. They eventually offered a refund or replacement, but I went through Amazon instead. Amazon refunded
