In the mid-90's I bought a set of computer speakers by Altec Lansing. To date, these are the best sounding computer speakers I've ever heard. Wow. These speakers are IMPRESSIVE. Stuck the subwoofer on the floor of my game room, PC speakers on the desk where they should be, and this setup can make the whole dam house vibrate. Louder than I'll ever need it to be, and the bass is more than punchy enough to make me glad I'm in a house instead of an apartment - even at low volumes, my favorite songs would definitely pis the neighbors off. UPDATE. This is the second of these I have ordered. The application for the first was a standalone (one piece monitor with the pc built in) that I custom built. I have built computers before from scratch. It worked great for that system, but this one I've had some problems with. First, out of warranty, and past the return window, the thing developed an audio problem, which I traced back to where the wires from the puck go into the enclosure for the sub. I bought these looking for an upgrade over my Logitech Z200s I've had for over 8 years (nothing wrong with them, just wanted something more powerful since I have a larger room after moving).
