I own the Harman Kardon SoundSticks 2 and have been so impressed with them over the years that I decided to upgrade to the SoundSticks 5 for my new home office setup. I still use my SoundSticks 2, so this was really an addition rather than a replacement.So far, the SoundSticks 5 have been absolutely fantastic. First and foremost, they are beautiful. You can barely see them in the background of the first picture, but this set of Soundsticks 5 is replacing my ~12 year old set of Soundsticks 3. The SS3 replaced an iSub and Apple Pro Speakers. I've had one of these clear plastic subwoofers on my desk for almost 25 years now. While I've had other sets from Edifier and Klipsch, I just can't get away from the cool space ship design and that unique air cannon bass profile.So where do we begin? Was debating whether to purchase this or not, but I honestly wish I had bought it sooner. The sound quality is top-notch, and the connectivity is much smoother than I expected—honestly, even better than my Sonos system.

I’ve been using the Harman Kardon SoundSticks 5 for about three weeks and I’m very impressed. They don’t take up much desk space, look great, and deliver clean, crisp sound with deep bass that isn’t overwhelming. Switching between my PC and Bluetooth for Apple Music is seamless, and the companion app is very useful for adjusting sound settings and customizing the LED lighting colors to match my setup.The only downside is that after 10+ minutes of inactivity, the speakers take a few seconds to wake up, which can cause you to miss the start of a video, apparently this is a built in energy saving

The speaker looks beautiful and the sound quality is amazing once it works. However, there is a frustrating bug when connecting to my iPhone. It often shows as "connected," but when I play music, there is no sound from the speaker—it just keeps playing out of my phone's built-in speaker. I have to disconnect and reconnect it multiple times to fix it. Hope they update the firmware soon.

3 imacs and 2 macbooks later, this is the set of speakers I was looking for. Good power and amplification compared to about a dozen speakers I've had over the years. Looks nice and takes up little desk space, plus a sub. fits my needs to a T.

It's so annoying that the Bluetooth disconnects itself after being idle for five minutes.
