For cooking rice you definitely have to get your rice-to-water proportions just right, which took some trial and error even following the directions to a tee. This little workhorse is so awesome! Rice cooks perfectly every time, the texture is just the right amount of sticky, and it can keep the rice warm for 10-20 minutes without any texture problems if we accidentally start it too soon. Make sure you wipe it out as soon as the rice is served so you don’t have to scrub it. If you do it while the insert is still warm, it’s an easy one-swipe clean. So far, we have no reason to complain.

I have used the mini rice cooker only twice, but am loving the size of it (I have a tiny kitchen), easy to set up and use. I have ben reading some reviews about it being messy and boiling over. I did see some bubbling around the rim when it started to cook. So the second time I used it I set it to warm for a while before I switched it to cook and I didn't have any bubbling up. I finally found a good rice cooker. I have tried expensive rice cookers, and I had to return them because I was not satisfied with their performance.
