    Great tool for the ice.

    I saw someone using one of these last year and thought it would make a great gift. I found one on Amazon and ordered it for this season. They are excellent for clearing slush out of the hole and slowing down refreezing on colder days. The price was reasonable, and the vendor shipped quickly

    Clear Holes

    Definitely not a one-shot hole clear. The 1st pass removes most of the heavy slush and that may be enough for some fisherman. I like to start with a very clean hole and so I need to make 2-3 passes with this. I still like it a lot and it can be used as a slush shovel in the collapsed position! Definitely recommended but not perfect. Very happy with this purchase!

    Efficient

    Like some others have stated it won't necessarily do it with one swipe. It is fast and well built it could be longer though. Used in Northern states in March with 2 ft or more of ice. I like the bigger scoop that you can drop down with ease and get more ice out. I have an electric powerhead auger 8 inch and ordered the 6 inch works fine so if you have problems with size maybe order next one down? For me and others was much more efficient than a regular scooper.

    It was a good purchase

    This thing is pretty slick. Less time trying to get ice out of your hole and more time fishing.It's simple and feels sturdy.It has phillips head bolts with nylon lock nuts. The rods are solid. The plastic scoop is thick.I'm pretty rough with my things and this seems capable of handling that.The only down side if you want to call it that is you have to bring the ice up somewhat slow or else you'll bring up a bunch of water with it. Despite that it's more practical than a regular skimmer and still saves you time.
