Part 1. To start off, I purchased just this headset, and plugged it into my motherboard integrated sound card. The results were abysmal to be quite honest. I purchased these with high hopes but was horribly let down. Plugging in via on-board (both front case and main back) they sounded weak and tinny. Plugging in via my Sound Blaster Z, the powered boost helped in terms of volume, but the lack of substance / tinny undertone was now even more dominant.Going even further, I plugged them into a GoXLR to utilize even more of a 'boost', still tinny.
