Girl in Pieces

This book was a deeply emotional book that I could not put down. I havent been able to find a book that I finished quickly due to how well it was written. “Girl In Pieces” was that book. I finished it in less than a week and was reading it nonstop. I highly recommend this book to someone who is prepared to read about hard topics and most likely cry on page 31 of this book. Absolutely loved it!

Every time I read a book about recovery, it’s always the same thing. I love how Charlotte was able to display her recovery process in such a realistic way that isn’t often portrayed. I’m also happy that she was able to prioritize herself over a boy.

This book is dark. My 13 year old granddaughter thought she wanted to read it but something about the cover gave me the willies so I thought I would read it first. I'm glad I did. It's about an older teenage girl who is into self harm. She's in a group home or hospital with others of a similar mindset and the reader gets to meet all of them. I recommended to my granddaughter and to her parents that she not read this book. At least not until she's much older.
