Greenworks 24V 6in Mini Chainsaw, 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger

I'm in my 60's and not up to full speed, so I needed a saw to do the work for me.After searching the net for days, reading reviews and watching videos, for a battery operated mini chain saw, I came to the Greenworks web page. To me, their mini chain saw just seemed sturdier, more efficient, than the others I saw on line. I purchased it through Amazon and received it within days. I also ordered an extra battery and chain for backup.So far I have used the saw two days, cutting down and slicing up 5 small trees, the largest being 3 inches around. This mini chainsaw is already doing it's job well. My husband took down a small tree with lots of small branches and this chainsaw was the perfect size and kept it's charge through the whole project. We live in a rural area surrounded by trees and clean up is constant. This is a convenient tool to keep in our arsenal.

Of the many gardening purchases I've made over the years, the Greenworks 24V 6" Brushless Mini Chainsaw is one of the items I wish I had invested in sooner. Update 6/8/2025: The chain tensioning knob broke! It had actually broken last year, but I was still able to work it with pliers; but now it’s more broken and I can’t even make it work with pliers. Bummer! I love this tool! But the tensioning knob is plastic, and not well made enough to resist the force required to tension the chain correctly. I’m not sure if I will buy another saw; perhaps, knowing this weakness, I’d be able to avoid it breaking again?Incredibly useful tool! Lightweight, easy to use, cuts quickly through any vegetation up to 2 inches, can take down trees up to 5 or 6 inches. G

I really liked the size of this saw & felt like it would be easy to use to trim lower limbs around the yard. However, I believe there is a flaw in the product. We ordered the saw plus an additional larger battery to use as a backup. Once we received the products, we charged the battery & tried out the saw using both the included battery & then larger (Greenworks brand) battery backup. It was as if the connection wasn't good. It would power on for a few seconds & then off again with both batteries. We assumed we got a dud & ordered a replacement. The replacement did the exact same thing.

I am so pleased with the weight and size of this 8" chainsaw. It has a surprising amount of power. At one point, I couldn't get it to start, and I started obsessing about another waste of money when I tugged on the bar. Magic: it could start. It's a good value for the money
