I absolutely love this book. I'm an automotive enthusiast and although I had a good baseline of knowledge, this book has filled in so many blanks. How Car Engines Work is filled with beautiful, clear and well organized pictures and diagrams. As a visual learner, this helped clarify the wealth of information in this book. Was actually a lot easier to follow than I expected. The detailed diagrams helped out a lot, especially when explaining how air, fuel, and ignition work together. It's detailed but beginner friendly so don't be afraid to pick it up if you're new like me.

My son requested this as he has a growing interest in mechanics and really anything with an engine. He has really enjoyed it. It even got a stamp of approval from his grandfather who was a mechanic for many years. For the cost I thought it would be thicker, but happy overall.

I count on my car every day, but I don't know much about it. I was looking for something to build my confidence with my car. This book mentions many brands and explains all the different systems. The most interesting thing I learned is that air matters more than fuel. I expected most of it to go over my head, but it was all laid out nicely in plain English with full-color illustrations to help see how everything works. I'll have to read it again, but it's an easy read.

I have been driving for decades and still know almost nothing about what is happening under the hood, I'm your typical gas it up, keep up with oil changes and go.
