From unboxing to setup, everything was smooth and intuitive. 5th and final update 7/1/24:Two months ago I had to return this HP printer model MFP 3301fdw because of the print issues, and HP couldn't sent out replacement toner (which they beli would fix it) since they didn't have the new toner model in stock.Last week I got delivered from FedEx Ground the HP Toner in all 4 colors. The thing is, the printer is returned and refunded back to Amazon and using a different model. So now I have the toner for a printer I no longer have. I’ve been using this printer for a little while now, and it’s been a great experience so far. Setup was quick and straightforward — the touchscreen menus are clear, and connecting it to Wi-Fi took only a couple minutes. I've been pretty happy with this. As one might imagine, color laserjet printed papers, when compared to inkjet, are in an entirely different league. The setup has taken longer than I like - it seems that there are a lot of bugs to work out in getting each of the devices in the household to interact with the printer. But now that we've got it up and running, I'm mostly satisfied. The toner is wicked expensive...$500+. I hope it lasts longer than the toner it came with - we ran through that in a month, and we don't print very much. It's easy to scan documents, the self-feeder seems to work well.

This is my 3rd Laserjet over the past 15 years. What a disappointment. Lots of issues. Not ready for professional home office use.Examples:Printer screen shows it's ready, but my mac shows it's offline.I print something - it looks like it's connecting to the printer in my print app on my mac, and then nothing - it doesn't connect, and then it just deleted the pending job and the print app says "no jobs pending" when, in reality, there is a job pending.Printed a document that I had just printed - 20 copies - 2 minutes earlier, and it printed 30 BLANK pages. Same doc. Same software and printer.

This was one of the "used" ones that was a lot cheaper than new. I don't mind that as we will only use it occasionally. It was packaged pretty well and came with aftermarket toner cartridges (which seem to work well). The printer did warn me they weren't oem and then moved on.Setup was straight forward and I connected it to my network via WiFi. After it did it's normal first startup initialization, it auto-magically did a firmware update. We use Linux machines and they were able to connect no problem as well as our android phones. The problems with this device and its drivers are manifold. For one thing the toner life, if actually printing in color frequently, is dismal. And for another, the driver immediately and automatically defaults (I understand that "automatically" and "defaults" may look redundant) to 2-side printing. But when I use both terms I mean that there is absolutely no way to make it default to 1-sided pages. Not with the HP driver that is available from HP or from HP via Microsoft. So one has to be eternally vigilant about checking a different box with every print batch or you will waste paper and toner
