I would like to start by saying that I am not being paid to write this review, nor did anyone solicit me to do so (other than the normal Amazon request). I am writing it because I appreciate hearing from other purchasers and want to pay it forward. I want to also say that this is my first serger. I have been sewing my whole life...my mother was a seamstress. She never had a serger, so I didn't think I needed one. But she didn't really sew knits...I find myself using them all the time. No problems with it. This was my first serger and the learning curve on threading is high! The first time I had to re-thread the whole thing (color change) it took me approximately 5 hours over the course of 3 days. I still dread if a certain thread ends up pulling out or breaking. Word of caution, have tweezers on hand before you start! It will help. Tensions were fairly easy to set after reading the manual. Keep the manual around to refer back to it. I have used this for many projects. It is a must of you want to sew with knits or make apparel.

I thought a serger a needless luxury and an unnecessary headache with 4 spools of thread. But the price was good and I'm a Juki fan and love a mechanical machine that has no beeps. I am loving this serger for a first one. I can thread it okay, but can take a few attempts before it's happy. This will not be my last serger. Sorry I waited. If you can afford it, go for an upgrade. But I do love Jukis.

This machine is a workhorse. I was trying to decide between this one Juki Mo-50E and Brother 1034dx. After watching YouTube videos on each of these machines, I chose Juki. I am extremely satisfied with this machine. It does not bounce like the Brother machine. It is very easy to thread. It has attachments and accessories in the drawer on the left side of the machine. No skipped stitching. Comes with an easy to read manual.

The value of the machine for what it can do is phenomenal. It speed and cleanliness of your finished edges will blow you away without cutting up your wallet. Only complaint is the lack of threads in the package.

I've only used this machine for 2 days so far. I've owned and used both Singer Stylist and Brother 1034 and 3034 for years and this machine is like the Cadillac of sergers! The brothers continually break down or have issues the Singer sounds like its about to fly apart! This Juki is like a dream plus its quiet compared to the Brothers! It sews easily sounds smooth and doesn't dance all over the table. This was purchased for a gift for my daughter. She loves it, and does a lot of sewing. It seemed to be very easy to thread and learn how to use.
