I am pleased with this replacement. My other one tipped over and fell off the counter and broke the blender part but the cup remained intact. I don't know about anyone else but my first one always smelled like petroleum product. It didn't matter how much I washed it. The NEW one from amazon does not have a smell at all. Even after I blended my shake and washed it out it smelled neutral and had really no smell at all. Bought this replacement blade for my Ninja BL480D because the listing specifically listed the BL480D as a compatible model. The blade assembly screws onto the cup just fine, so at first glance it appears correct.Unfortunately, it will not fully engage with the blender base. It makes the initial click, but it won't press down far enough to activate the safety mechanism, meaning the blender won't start.After comparing it more closely, I discovered my original assembly was a different blade configuration. works perfect with 12 year old Ninja... DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER ON BOTTOM SHELF WITH HIGH HEAT! This is why we had to order new ones.. the heat in the dishwasher barely 'warped' the glass to where it was almost impossible to get the blades off and on

Blade base does not have exactly same fit as OEM, requires a little more finesse to get seated properly. Good value otherwise.
