MILLEPUNTI MLD42 Serger Overlock Sewing Machine, 1300 SPM, 12 Stitches

Okay, so I’ve only had this for a few days, also I will note I’m not a seasoned sewist! I’m new! I have been researching these machines for weeks. All different kinds. Ranging in price, the top model I was interested in was 800.00. I’ve read about them on endless platforms, scoured the internet for reviews, asked AI, watched videos to hear them all and watch their performance. I settled on a few of them that were higher cost starter machines 600-800.00, however, none of them had all the options I wanted. Oh my goodness! This Millipunti overlocker/serger is amazing! Okay, maybe that is too high praise for an entry level machine, but for a new sewist like me having an overlocker is brilliant! Prior to making this purchase I was using pinking shears. What a difference having an overlocker makes. Since this is my first one and I am so new I don’t really know how much better a higher end machine would be. For my needs this overlocker does everything I need it to do. Okay on to ease of use, it is really easy, I was a little nervous to get started because the info says the machine is not pre threaded

This serger takes some time to learn but as long as you keep the instructions close by you’ll be able to use it just fine. Before you know it you’ll be using it without the instruction manual. After a little practice I went from not knowing what a serger was to knowing how to thread and use one.I used the different color threads to learn which tension buttons affected which threads and needles. After I learned that I felt confident enough to use one color on all four spools. This machine cuts through thick fabric like quilts and stretch fabric and knit fabric with ease. So far this machine as met my expectations on simple serging. Instructions are a little confusing on threading and more complicated stitches. Value is great and the machine seams well built.

It runs, but threading it is a nightmare, and the needles and thread easily break. I wouldn't do this again.

Cute looking machine and perhaps for someone who has not used sergers before is a good choice.I do have 2 singers, one professional 5 threads and another 4 threads and needed another one to make things easier and faster when I am making my items. This machine does not have the option I need, and I do not like the fact that I cannot disable cutting knife.Anyway, cute looking, not laud, good machine, just decide for yourself what you are going to use it for.

I bought this so I wouldn’t have to change thread colors as often. This is a secondary serger for me and though it’s not as sturdy and a bit louder than my juki home mode its very well put together. Works well, and was only half the price of a new juki. Overall, very satisfied.

First serger I have owned. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. Machine performance well. I look forward to using it on more projects
