I LOVE this bin - I had a different one before - also touchless - it stopped working recently so I replaced it with this one - here are the two BIG differences: This one only needs TWO of the big batteries (previous one needed FOUR, which is a lot). This one, when it automatically opens (motion sensor), it stays open as long as your hand is in the bin. What does this matter? If you're scraping things off a plate and taking a bit longer - the PREVIOUS bin would still automatically try and close and always bang my hand - not a big deal, but just annoying. Then it

This works well in my camper! Battery life is good, opens when it should most of the time, but sometimes I have to wave my hand again. And sometimes it opens when you don't want it to, but only if walking by really close to it, or when I bend over near it, my butt may open it. Maybe that's a me problem, lol. Overall, it's great and I would buy it again.

I bought this Ninestars Automatic Trash Can in June 2023 and it has been fabulous since day one. Recently the automatic open/close feature stopped working on the lid. I YouTubed a couple of ideas to try and fix it to no avail.I am going to purchase a new lid from the Ninestars company for $42. I think I recall paying around $80 for the whole assembly from Amazon 3 years ago. I believe I got my money's worth and would recommend it. Nothing lasts forever.

If this were my first automated top-opening trash receptacle I'd think the Ninestars 13 Gallon Automatic Trash Can is pretty close to perfect! Absolutely love this trash can (not something I ever thought, before). In particular, I like the trash bag liner that hides the bag from hanging out of the can - making it look clean and tidy. In hindsight I would have ordered a taller one (I'm 6'4") but overall, absolutely love this can!

I really like this trash can, it’s high quality, the touchless opening is so convenient. To me the sound of it opening is barely noticeable, the price was affordable and it has been a nice addition to my house.
