This was the second one of these for me. I had purchased the original FZ80 quite a while ago and, unfortunately, it got wet on an excursion. I use the camera almost exclusively outdoors. The superzoom feature of this camera is perfect for my use to capture photos of wildlife and views while hiking.The downsides are that sometimes, especially at full zoom, some photos I've taken are slightly out of focus. This is such a fun camera at a low price. Surprisingly light weight. Great for casual users who still love to capture decent pictures of distant wildlife especially in well-lit conditions. The zoom level is crazy. I got one for my husband and he loved it so much that I got a 2nd one for my mom, who also loved it.

This is a GREAT camera FOR ITS INTENDED PURPOSE. Please read before buying.This camera is a "superzoom bridge" camera. That means it has a small sensor (it's physically impossible to get this much zoom out of any portable camera with a large sensor). So, it is NOT a professional grade large sensor camera to get the best depth of color and pin sharp detail. A very good and capable ultra zoom camera. Does almost everything you could ask. For some reason Panasonic left out a panorama function. Smaller, lighter and not quite as good as the FZ1000 which is discontinued. Ultra zooms are a dying type which is too bad. This is one of the only cameras of its type with a diopter adjustment on the viewfinder which was a deal breaker when comparing to Canon and Nikon models.

With a trip to Yellowstone & Grand Teton looming, I was fearful my phone camera wouldn't get the photos I wanted to get- especially if the wildlife was far away... so I decided to get a budget-friendly camera with a great zoom - and this camera fits my needs perfectly!! It's got a very nice zoom - gets beautiful shots up close & personal, without risking getting killed by a Bison or Grizly. :D Unlike some others, it's very light and I'm able to hike with it around my neck without any problem!! I wanted so much to really love this camera, and the price and zoom were indeed awesome, but final results were mixed. I am admittedly, a "pixel peeper" and immediately after feeding my pics to my PC, I begin giving them great scrutiny to edit slightly etc.. These pics on the face looked great but upon close inspection looked a bit grainy despite my best efforts at keeping ISO low. I received this camera for Christmas 2025. And I am still learning, but a great choice for my needs and my wants in a camera. Beautiful and superior fast focus photos with the zooming in or out. Also, superior stabilization with the focus and resolution without the use of a tripod is awesome. Clarity of each photo is sharp, crisp, and great quality. The images are just not good. At any range.I didn't realize that I owned pretty much this same camera 7+ years ago, and didn't like it. This camera is just a refresh of its predecessor the FZ80. The only differences are the charging cable type, and touch screen, and a few things like that.
