Playstation Media Remote

This remote is awesome. I have a Samsung TV for the last 4 or 5 years and since day one, the Samsung remote didn't work well. You have to stand in specific places for it to connect to the tv and it's like you have to wait for the tv to do whatever before pushing the next button. I got the PS5 remote primarily to watch shows or movies on my PS5. The option to be able to use it for my tv was just a bonus.But since I've had it, about 24 hours now, the PS5 remote works better on my tv than the remote that came with it! This thing is great. It operates pretty much everything on my ps5 that's not a videogame. Very pleased, and would buy again. I was hesitant when I read something about a poor battery life but mines worked great for months without any issue.

I don’t typically leave a lot of reviews but I felt compelled to leave one for this. I’ve had my PS5 since release date. Just until a few months ago I used it for strictly gaming. Now I use it as a media hub for all my steaming. I was tired of using my remote and having to constantly worry about it going to sleep and constantly recharging it.A lot of reviews say “stopped working in the first month” or some similar. I will say my mine stopped working after about a month. The batteries died. I can only assume this is basically just a mini controller which means it’s constantly connected to the P

I like to use this for watching Netflix it’s much more convenient than using the ps5 dual sense controller. For some reason it seems the volume buttons don’t work which kinda sucks. It kinda has too many buttons. The navigation buttons do the same thing as the play pause buttons or the reverse and fast forward buttons. If you use the ps5 for streaming a lot it’s probably worth it otherwise you might want to skip it. Update: so I really wish this came with a built in re-chargeable battery because after only two months I’ve had to replace the batteries it started with the volume buttons not work

Here’s my edit after using daily for months. I’m still super disappointed about the fact the buttons are almost the same height as the entire remote. It’s very easy to memorize what’s what and the return button is in a great place to use with your thumb. The design and how well it performs is top notch. If the buttons had been raised 1mm higher it would be the best console media remote I’ve ever bought. I have an Xbox X as well and they don’t even have a factory remote. Hated that my full PS5 controller was so itchy to fast forward or rewind media. Bought this and it is so much better than i was hoping. Solid, works tv on off and volume. Wont control my sound bar though, i dont mind.Love the product.

I had high hopes for the PlayStation Media Remote, but after purchasing not one, but two, I can confidently say this product is a huge disappointment. The first remote started having issues shortly after I bought it, and assuming I got a defective unit, I decided to give it another shot. The normal controller works just fine, however this has many upsides over it. For starts the lack of L2 and R2 triggers means you don't have to worry about accidentally pressing fast foward. Being powered by AAA batteries instead of a rechargeable means it only draws power when you press a button, so don't have to worry about charging. It can turn on the tv and control the volume and when you turn on the PlayStation it takes you straight to the media section instead of the gaming one. I wish it had backlit buttons but thats the only thing i can find to complain about
