Being a Studio owner for the last 25 years I can tell you it’s easy to slip into ruts. This book will pull you out of them and perhaps even twist your thinking. Well written. Lots of laughs. Interviews with many top producers and engineers. And her artwork is outstanding. If you work in a studio you’ll love this book. And if you don’t, you just might love it, too!

I haven't finished this book, I'll say that right up front. In fact, I haven't even made my way half way through yet. Why the 5 stars then? I was really excited to read this after reading about her work and watching some of her YouTube videos. I very much enjoyed the book and will definitely be reading it again, but I hope this book is a primer for a future book detailing more of her own studio trickery, like a mad “cookbook”, which is what I was hoping to get more of in this one.There’s a lot of input via stories and quotes from others, which is valuable, but I prefer her own unique perspective, which is what initially led to me purchase the book.This was definitely an inspiring read and I love the illustrations. The stories are inspirational. The drawings are worth thier weight in gold. I would recommend this book to my producer friends looking to expand their book of tricks.

...But this book is full of wonderfully-told anecdotes by the people who were there when some of your favorite music was recorded, many of which range between whimsical and gut-bustingly funny, if you have a good sense of humor and have ever done weird things to get your sound in the studio.Several times while reading this book, I thought to myself, "I gotta try that!" I bought a couple of microphones based on some of the recommendations in this book.
