I bought these needles because I was told this brand is the best and I needed some heavy duty ones to try to upcycle denim, and they work great. I only had issues with one project (quilting with pieced denim, they broke when I was trying to go over the seam) but I think that was more due to me asking too much from it rather than the durability of the needles. I’ve used them in multiple different projects and they worked great. Great multipurpose durable needles for a great price. Fit in a Pfaaf Quilt Expressions 4.0 perfectly.

I had been trying to make potholders with two layers of fabric and two layers of terrycloth. (Side note: if you want to make potholders, a couple of squares of terrycloth cut from a cheap bath towel are better insulation and less expensive than any fancy quilt batting you can find.) However, sewing through so many thick layers was frustrating. My sewing machine kept jamming and the thread kept tangling or breaking. I only ever use Schmetz needles. Recently I repaired and hemmed two pairs of very heavyweight jeans and these needles performed beautifully, even through several layers of seams, without breaking. My machine jammed a couple of times but the needles worked perfectly.
