It’s funny how as we get older we get excited about things like trash cans, but alas! I bought this one specifically for the recessed lid because my dog kept opening up my old one with his nose. He can’t get in to this one, but it’s so much better than just that! It is a little pricey, but it’s honestly worth it. It looks so much nicer than the plastic one we had previously and somehow stays much cleaner, too! It looks sleek, feels very sturdy, and the lid closes smoothly and quietly every time. It keeps odors contained and makes the kitchen look more organized. A little pricey, but definitely worth it for the quality.

This is amazing. It's so expensive, but it really is perfectly designed and a joy to use. Sturdy, feels like it will be long-lasting, and the inside spot for extra bags is magical. It's also magnetic, so I enjoy having some colorful national park magnets on the side! Easy to lift out the recycling bucket and carry it out, although it can fill quickly, since it's on the narrow side, but for a single person, I think that works fine. I do use a separate box for paper. The toe press feels so solid. Easy to clean, too. Great product.

Who knew garbage cans could be so beautiful? Great for small home or kitchen where the garbage can’t be hidden. Love that garbage and recycles are all in one can. Convenient to have refill bags in the back. So easy to use.

simolehuman makes some quality products. While they are expensive and they really want you to use their bags it's a great bin to have. I found that any 13 gallon bags work really well and while it's not as snug of a fit as their own bags I find the price is worth the not snug fit. It looks sleek and I've never had any trouble with the opening and closing of the lid. Overall solid product and I highly recommend it!

DO NOT USE THE SCENT POD!!! We used the scent pod provided by SimpleHuman and within two weeks had a trash fly infestation followed by maggots. We continuously took our trash out and used preventative methods for the flies, but nothing helped. The maggots appeared after three weeks all around the scent pod and in the holder. We removed the sent pod, cleaned the trash can, and by the end of the day the flies were gone too! Great trash can… I cannot at all recommend or advise using the scent pod.

This trash can blew us away!! The depth capacity initially felt smaller than our plastic trash can, but for some reason, it seems to hold more waste. I really love that the trash bags are conveniently located on the backside of the receptacle! It’s sturdy and we don’t worry about our dogs knocking it over to make a mess with the trash!The one thing that disappointed me was the “squeaky” sound our lid began to make after just 3 days of use. It’s simple, we used WD40 to “grease it up” but in my opinion, if we’re spending $150 on a trash can, it shouldn’t squeak.
