A camera bag has one job that an ordinary backpack cannot do: keep a body and lenses from banging into each other, and let you get the camera out in a few seconds without unpacking everything. Beyond that the choices are about how you carry. A backpack spreads weight for a long day, a sling swings round to the front for quick access, and a small hard case protects a compact camera in a handbag or a child’s rucksack. We ranked the camera bags and cases in our cameras catalog by what they hold, how you reach the camera, padding and weather protection, comfort and weight, extras like tripod straps and tablet sleeves, and what thousands of owners say after carrying them for a year.
We have not packed every one of these ourselves; the verdicts rest on the spec sheets and the owner review history. Prices are not printed because they change daily; every button opens the live Amazon page. If the bag is for a trip rather than a shoot, our travel backpacks for carry-on guide covers general bags; for the tripod that straps to the side, see our camera tripods and mounts guide.
How we picked
- Camera bags, not bags with a camera pocket. Every pick has padded, movable dividers or a fitted compartment built for camera gear.
- Honest capacity. We list the bodies and lenses each bag is designed for, and say which ones are not for full-frame kits.
- Fast access. Side or front openings, sling rotation or a lid you can open one-handed.
- Protection you can see on the spec sheet: water-resistant fabric, rain covers, hard shells and thick dividers.
- Owner ratings of 4.5 stars or better, and six of the eight picks have more than 1,000 reviews.
The picks
CADeN Camera Backpack Bag Professional for DSLR/SLR Mirrorless Camera Waterproof, Camera Case Compatible for Sony Canon Nikon

The CADeN D6 is the camera backpack most people should start with, and 9,300 owners rating it 4.7 stars suggest most people do. It is compact at 11 by 5.9 by 15 inches and 1.74 pounds, yet CADeN specifies room for a body, four lenses, a flash, a tablet and accessories with a tripod strapped outside, or a drone in place of the camera kit. The fabric is scratch-resistant and waterproof, the dividers use seven layers of foam, the front pocket has a hidden zipper for cards and cables, and the alloy zippers are guaranteed against rust and breakage for years. It is a one-body bag with a back-panel opening, so you take it off to get the camera, and a laptop will not fit. For a beginner or enthusiast with a mirrorless or entry DSLR kit, it is the best value on this page.
- 9,300 owners at 4.7 stars, the best-rated bag here
- Holds a full starter kit plus a tablet and tripod
- Waterproof fabric and seven-layer foam padding
- Under 2 lb empty and inexpensive
- Compact dimensions limit it to one body and smaller lenses
- Back-panel access only, no side door
- No laptop space beyond a tablet
MOSISO Camera Backpack, DSLR/SLR/Mirrorless Photography Camera Bag

The MOSISO is the step up in size and protection: a 17.3-inch-tall backpack with a waterproof PU leather hard-shell front that takes knocks the soft bags cannot. The upper compartment holds a padded modular insert, 16.5 by 11.4 by 5.5 inches, with customisable dividers for a body, lenses, a flash or a drone, and because the insert lifts out, the whole bag becomes an ordinary backpack for a day off. Below it a second compartment takes clothes or a jacket, two rear pockets hold cables and cards, one side strap carries a tripod or monopod and the other pocket an umbrella. The padded straps have a clip for sunglasses, and the back panel is high-elastic cushion for long days. It is bigger and heavier than the CADeN and the top-loading layout means lenses at the bottom take a moment to reach. For a kit that has outgrown a small bag, 6,300 owners at 4.7 stars rate it the one to carry.
- 6,300 owners at 4.7 stars
- Hard-shell front shrugs off knocks and rain
- Removable camera insert turns it into a normal backpack
- Tripod strap and umbrella pocket
- Larger and heavier than the CADeN
- Top-loading insert means digging for lenses at the bottom
- PU leather shell can scuff over time

The K&F everyday sling is the bag for a city walk or a holiday where one body and a lens or two is the whole kit. It is 13 by 8.6 by 5.9 inches outside, 10.6 by 6.7 by 4.1 inside, wrapped in weatherproof recycled nylon canvas with a double PU coating, and lined with 10mm high-density EPE foam and a flex-fold divider so a mirrorless body sits apart from a spare lens. The strap adjusts from 34 to 55 inches, so it rides as a sling, a shoulder bag or a crossbody and swings round to the front for one-handed access without taking it off. Bottom straps carry a small travel tripod up to 3 inches across, and there are front, back and internal pockets for cards, phone and wallet. It is not a bag for three lenses or a laptop, and the soft shell is less protective than a hard case. For light, fast days, 3,500 owners at 4.6 stars make it the sling to buy.
- 3,500 owners at 4.6 stars
- Swings to the front for one-handed access
- Weatherproof double-coated canvas and 10mm padding
- Bottom straps carry a small tripod
- One body and one or two lenses, no more
- Single divider limits layout options
- Fabric is softer than a hard-sided bag
K&F CONCEPT Camera Backpack,25L Large Capacity Camera Bag for Photographers

The K&F 25L is the bag for photographers who carry a laptop as well as a camera. Its 17.3 by 11.8 by 9.4-inch body is split into three tiers: an upper compartment sized for a 200mm lens or a Mavic Air 2 drone, a middle camera section with customisable dividers and a side door so you can swing the bag round and grab the body one-handed, and a lower section for the rest. A padded laptop compartment sits against the back, a rain cover lives in its own pocket, and a side compartment with a strap and buckle holds a tripod. Small pockets are dedicated to SD cards, phone, wallet and keys. K&F notes it does not include a chest strap, and a bag this size is more than a one-body kit needs. For weddings, travel with a laptop and anyone shooting two bodies, 1,200 owners at 4.5 stars call it a well-organised, weather-ready pack.
- 25 liters and a padded laptop compartment
- Side door gets the camera out without taking the bag off
- Rain cover included
- 1,200 owners at 4.5 stars
- No chest strap
- Big for a one-body kit
- Heavier when loaded than the sling or the CADeN
K&F CONCEPT Camera Sling Bag, Compact Crossbody Backpack, 10L

The K&F 10L sling is built for exactly the cameras people buy today: a Canon R50 or R100, a Sony A6400, a Nikon compact, one body with one or two lenses. It weighs 1.28 pounds, measures 7.8 by 5.5 by 16.1 inches, and opens 270 degrees down one side behind a safety buckle, so you rotate it to the front and the whole camera compartment lays open. Inside are five padded dividers, two L-shaped and three straight, plus an elastic strap, which is a lot of layout control for a bag this size, and an upper compartment keeps keys and snacks away from the glass. The water-repellent twill with leather trim looks less like camera gear than most. K&F is explicit that full-frame bodies do not fit, and the narrow, tall shape suits slim kits only. For a mirrorless starter kit, 1,400 owners at 4.5 stars rate it the right size.
- Only 1.28 lb with a 270-degree side door
- Five dividers for a genuinely custom layout
- Upper compartment for daily items keeps gear separate
- 1,400 owners at 4.5 stars
- Not for full-frame bodies or large lenses
- Narrow 7.8-inch width
- Tall shape sits high on the back
K&F CONCEPT Camera Backpack, Lightweight Camera Bag with Tripod Holder

The K&F lightweight backpack is the closest rival to the CADeN and beats it on one detail: the main compartment opens from the front, so the whole kit lays flat in front of you like a drawer rather than being reached through the back panel. It weighs 1.96 pounds, measures 10.6 by 5.1 by 15.2 inches with a 9.8 by 4.9 by 14.1-inch gear compartment, and uses five customisable dividers that lift out in seconds to turn it into an everyday daypack. The 600D fabric is splash-proof, a rain cover is included, and two front zip pockets take cables, batteries and cards. It is 5.1 inches deep, which rules out long lenses, and the tripod holder is for travel-sized legs. It has far fewer reviews than the CADeN, 650 against 9,300, but at 4.7 stars they say the same thing: light, well-padded and sensibly laid out for a body and three lenses.
- 4.7 stars from 650 owners
- Front-opening compartment lays the whole kit flat
- Rain cover included at a budget price
- Dividers lift out to make a normal daypack
- Fewer reviews than the CADeN it competes with
- 5.1 inches deep limits lens length
- Tripod holder suits small travel tripods only
BAGSMART 2 in 1 Small Camera Backpack for DSLR, Beige

The BAGSMART is the bag for people who cannot decide between a backpack and a shoulder bag, because it is both: tuck the straps away and a single crossbody strap takes over, or wear it on both shoulders for a longer walk. It measures 14.17 by 10.24 by 6.3 inches, small enough to slide under an airline seat, and holds a DSLR or mirrorless body with a couple of lenses behind removable dividers, plus a 12.9-inch tablet in its own padded compartment. The polyester is waterproof and scratch-resistant with reinforced padding in the main section. It is the least-reviewed pick here with 450 owners, it is a small bag by design, and the beige colour shows marks sooner than black. At 4.5 stars, owners praise the flexibility; for a tablet-carrying traveller with a modest kit it is a neat answer.
- Switches between backpack and crossbody in seconds
- Dedicated 12.9-inch tablet compartment
- Fits under an airline seat
- 4.5 stars from 450 owners
- Fewest reviews on the page
- Small: one body and a couple of lenses
- Beige fabric shows dirt
Comecase Digital Camera Case for Kodak PIXPRO FZ55/FZ45/ for CAMKORY, Pink

The Comecase is a different kind of pick: a fitted hard case for the small compacts in our digital cameras under 200 guide, and 8,200 owners rate it 4.6 stars. It is a hard EVA shell wrapped in soft PU leather, lined with soft fabric and two layers of anti-shock bubble, sized for cameras up to 4.33 by 3.07 by 2.3 inches, which covers the Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 and FZ45, CAMKORY, Lecran and most of the student compacts sold on Amazon. A hand strap lets it dangle from a wrist or clip to a bag, and it keeps dust and scratches off a camera that would otherwise rattle around a backpack. It is case only, it holds the camera and nothing else, and the listing colour is pink. For a child’s or student’s first camera, it is the cheapest insurance on this page.
- 8,200 owners at 4.6 stars
- Hard EVA shell protects a compact in a school bag or handbag
- Sized for the Kodak FZ55 and FZ45 and similar compacts
- Inexpensive
- Fits compacts only; check the dimensions
- No room for spare batteries or cards inside
- Pink is the colour listed; other colours vary

Backpack, sling or case?
A backpack (CADeN, MOSISO, K&F 25L, K&F lightweight, BAGSMART) is for carrying more for longer: both shoulders share the weight, there is room for a tablet or laptop, and a tripod straps to the side. The cost is access; you take it off to reach the camera unless it has a side door like the K&F 25L. A sling (K&F everyday, K&F 10L) is for carrying less and shooting more: one body, one or two lenses, and the bag swings round to the front so the camera is out in seconds. A fitted hard case (Comecase) is for a compact camera that lives in another bag and needs to survive it. Most photographers end up with one of each.
Sizing: what will actually fit
Measure your gear before you trust a listing. The K&F 10L sling takes equipment up to 7.1 by 4.7 by 9.8 inches and K&F says plainly that full-frame bodies do not fit; the K&F everyday sling has a 10.6 by 6.7 by 4.1-inch interior; the CADeN is 5.9 inches deep and the K&F lightweight 4.9, which rules out long zooms stored upright. The MOSISO insert at 16.5 by 11.4 by 5.5 inches and the K&F 25L with its 200mm-lens upper tier are the two for bigger kits. For the Comecase, the camera must be under 4.33 by 3.07 by 2.3 inches. A body with a kit lens attached is roughly 5 by 4 by 5 inches on most mirrorless cameras and bigger on a DSLR; check yours against the compartment, not the outside of the bag.
Weather, padding and the tripod
All eight picks claim some weather resistance, but the levels differ. Waterproof fabric (CADeN, BAGSMART) and double PU-coated canvas (K&F everyday) shed rain; splash-proof 600D (K&F lightweight) and water-repellent twill (K&F 10L) handle drizzle; the K&F 25L and K&F lightweight add a rain cover for downpours; the MOSISO hard shell and the Comecase EVA case resist crushing as well as water. Padding thickness is stated on the K&F everyday (10mm EPE) and the CADeN (seven-layer foam), and every bag has movable dividers except the fitted Comecase. For tripods, the CADeN, MOSISO, K&F 25L, K&F lightweight and K&F everyday all have external straps; the K&F everyday limits it to legs under 3 inches across, so a full-size tripod from our tripods guide rides better on the backpacks.
What size camera bag do I need?
Add up your body with its largest lens attached, plus each extra lens, and compare to the interior dimensions listed above. One body and two lenses fit a sling; a body, four lenses and a tablet want the CADeN; a laptop or a second body needs the K&F 25L or the MOSISO.
Are these camera bags waterproof?
Water-resistant rather than submersible. The CADeN and BAGSMART use waterproof fabric, the MOSISO has a hard PU shell, and the K&F 25L and lightweight backpacks include rain covers for heavy rain. Zippers are the weak point on every soft bag.
Can I carry a tripod on a camera bag?
Yes on the CADeN, MOSISO, K&F 25L, K&F lightweight and K&F everyday sling, all of which have external straps. Travel tripods under 3 inches in folded diameter fit the sling; full-size tripods belong on the backpacks.
Which bag fits a full-frame camera?
The MOSISO, CADeN, K&F 25L and K&F lightweight backpacks take full-frame bodies with standard zooms. The K&F 10L sling is specified for mirrorless and small DSLR kits only, and the K&F everyday sling suits one body and a lens or two.
Will the Comecase fit my camera?
If the camera is 4.33 by 3.07 by 2.3 inches or smaller, yes. That covers the Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 and FZ45, CAMKORY, Lecran and most pocket compacts sold for students. It does not fit bridge cameras or anything with a protruding zoom lens.
