Best Camera Tripods and Mounts in 2026: Travel Tripods, Tall Video Tripods, Phone Tripods and Car Mounts Ranked by Owners

Six camera tripods and mounts ranked by height, load, head type, weight and owner reviews: Amazon Basics 50-inch, VICTIV and JOILCAN 74-inch, K&F Concept 75-inch, EUCOS phone tripod, VAZESWIN.

Our top pickAmazon Basics 50-inch Lightweight Portab…9.0Our score

A tripod is the cheapest upgrade in photography: the same camera on three legs shoots sharper long exposures, level video, group photos with you in them and time-lapses that do not drift. The buying problem is that budget tripods look identical in a listing and behave very differently in the field, where leg locks slip, heads sag under a zoom lens and a light tripod blows over. We ranked the tripods and mounts in our cameras catalog by maximum and minimum height, weight and folded length, head type and whether it has a quick-release plate, what it will hold without drooping, extras like a phone holder or remote, and what tens of thousands of owners report after using them.

We have not loaded every one of these ourselves; the verdicts rest on the spec sheets and the owner review history. Prices are not printed because they change daily; every button opens the live Amazon page. If the tripod is going under a vlogging camera, our vlogging cameras guide covers the cameras themselves; for carrying a tripod with the rest of your kit, our camera bags and cases guide lists bags with tripod straps.

How we picked

  • Real tripods and camera mounts only. Security-camera brackets, kids cameras bundled with a tripod and phone holders for the dashboard were left out.
  • A stated height range and weight, so you can judge eye-level shooting and how it will travel.
  • A head you can use. Every tripod here has a 3-way pan head with a quick-release plate; the car mount has a ball head.
  • Something for every camera. Picks range from a compact or phone up to a DSLR with a kit zoom, and we say which is which.
  • Owner ratings of 4.5 stars or better, and every pick has at least 800 reviews; one has 190,000.

The picks

Amazon Basics 50-inch Lightweight Portable Camera Tripod Stand with Quick-Release Plate, Adjustable Height, Aluminum, for Travel Photography, Champagne
Height16.1 to 50 inches, 3-section lever-lock legsWeight1.23 lb, aluminumHead3-way head with tilt and swivel, portrait or landscapePlateQuick-releaseLevelBuilt-in bubble levelFolded16.9 inches, zippered storage bag

The Amazon Basics 50-inch is the tripod more people own than any other, with 190,000 reviews at 4.5 stars, and its appeal is simple: it weighs 1.23 pounds, folds to 17 inches and fits in a backpack side pocket, yet it has the features that matter, a 3-way head that tilts and swivels, a quick-release plate so you are not screwing the camera on every time, a bubble level and a zippered bag. For a compact camera, a phone in an adapter, a small mirrorless body or a vlogging camera it is all most people need. Its limits are height and strength: 50 inches puts the camera at chest level, so you stoop, and the light aluminum legs and plastic head will not hold a heavy DSLR and zoom steady in a breeze. Within those limits it is the best value on this page by a wide margin.

Pros
  • 190,000 owners at 4.5 stars, the most-reviewed camera accessory in our catalog
  • Only 1.23 lb and folds to 17 inches
  • Quick-release plate and bubble level at a very low price
  • Zippered bag included
Cons
  • 50 inches is below eye level for most adults
  • Too light for a DSLR with a long zoom in wind
  • Plastic head and locks; treat it gently

Best tall tripod for video and DSLRs

VICTIV Camera Tripod, Tripod for Camera and Phone with Phone Holder

VICTIV Camera Tripod, Tripod for Camera and Phone with Phone Holder
Height19 to 74 inchesHeadProfessional 3-way pan head: 360 pan, 180 tilt, 90 portraitMountStandard 1/4-inch screw, extra quick-release plate includedPhone holderUniversal holder includedIn the boxTripod, phone holder, spare plate, handle, 3 non-slip pads, carrying bagUseCameras, camcorders, spotting scopes, projectors

The VICTIV is the tripod to buy when 50 inches is not enough. It extends from 19 to 74 inches, which puts the camera at eye level for a standing adult, and its 3-way pan head rotates 360 degrees, tilts 180 and flips 90 for portraits, with a handle for controlled pans. VICTIV includes a second quick-release plate so two cameras or a camera and a phone can swap without re-attaching, a universal phone holder, non-slip pads and a bag. Owners use it for DSLRs with kit lenses, camcorders, spotting scopes and even projectors. It is not a fluid head, so video pans are smooth with practice rather than buttery, and like every budget tripod it flexes at full extension with a heavy lens, so keep the center column low when you can. At 4.6 stars from 4,400 owners it is the best-rated full-size tripod in the catalog.

Pros
  • 4.6 stars from 4,400 owners, the best-rated tripod here
  • 74 inches reaches eye level for video and portraits
  • Spare quick-release plate and phone holder in the box
  • Handle makes smooth pans easy
Cons
  • Heavier and longer folded than the Amazon Basics
  • Pan head is not a fluid video head
  • Legs flex at full height with a heavy lens

Best tall tripod with the most owner history

JOILCAN Tripod for Camera Phone Video Recording Photography

9.0Our score
JOILCAN Tripod for Camera Phone Video Recording Photography
Height19 to 74 inches, trapezoidal flip-lock legsHead3-way pan head with head, pan and tilt locks, 360 rotationMount1/4-inch screw; extra quick-release plates and phone mount includedCompatibilityNikon, Canon, Fujifilm and other cameras, phonesUseEvents, portraits, travel, YouTube and vlogs, video callsBuildLightweight with flap locks that adjust in seconds

The JOILCAN is the VICTIV’s closest rival and has more owners behind it: 6,700 reviews at 4.5 stars. It covers the same 19-to-74-inch range with trapezoidal flip locks that let you set up or collapse the legs in a few seconds, and its 3-way pan head has separate head, pan and tilt locks with full 360-degree rotation for panoramas and smooth horizontal pans. JOILCAN also throws in extra quick-release plates and a phone mount, so it moves between a camera and a phone with no tools. Owners use it for everything from family portraits and events to YouTube videos and video calls. The usual budget caveats apply: flip locks can loosen with heavy use and need a turn of the adjustment screw, the head locks are plastic, and it is not the tripod for a long telephoto. Choose between this and the VICTIV on price on the day; they are near twins.

Pros
  • 6,700 owners at 4.5 stars, the most-reviewed tall tripod here
  • Flip locks adjust each leg in seconds
  • Spare quick-release plates and a phone mount included
  • Same 74-inch reach as the VICTIV
Cons
  • Flip locks loosen over time and need re-tightening
  • Head locks are plastic
  • Not for long telephoto lenses

K&F CONCEPT Aluminum Camera Tripod, Lightweight and Compact for Travel

K&F CONCEPT Aluminum Camera Tripod, Lightweight and Compact for Travel
Height18.9 to 75 inchesWeight2.6 lb, folds to 19.6 inchesLegsPentagonal aluminum tubes for stiffnessHead360-degree 3-way pan head, horizontal and vertical rotationPhone and tablet2-in-1 adjustable holder fits phones and tabletsRemoteBluetooth remote with long range

The K&F Concept is the travel tripod of the group: it reaches a full 75 inches, the tallest here, yet folds to 19.6 inches and weighs 2.6 pounds, light enough to strap to a daypack. Its trick is pentagonal rather than round leg tubes, which K&F says resist flex better at the same weight, and in owner reviews it is praised for feeling stiffer than its price suggests. The 360-degree 3-way pan head handles horizontal and vertical framing, and the 2-in-1 holder grips tablets as well as phones, which makes it a favourite for live streaming and video calls. A Bluetooth remote with long range is included for group shots and self-filming on a phone. It is heavier than the Amazon Basics, the remote does not fire most cameras, and some people prefer a ball head for fast reframing. With 3,000 owners at 4.5 stars, it is the pick for travel and streaming.

Pros
  • Tallest reach here at 75 inches yet folds to under 20 inches
  • Pentagonal legs are stiffer than round tubes at this weight
  • Bluetooth remote and a holder that also takes tablets
  • 3,000 owners at 4.5 stars
Cons
  • Heavier than the Amazon Basics at 2.6 lb
  • Remote works with phones and tablets, not most cameras
  • Pan head rather than a ball head for quick framing

Best phone tripod and selfie stick

EUCOS Phone Tripod, Tripod for iPhone & Selfie Stick with Remote

HeightExtends to 62 inches in one motion; converts between tripod and selfie stickWeight13 oz tripod plus 2.3 oz phone holderMaterialModified nylon PA6/6 for crush and weather resistancePhone holderFits phones 2.2 to 3.6 inches wide, with a cold shoe for a light or micRemoteWireless remote, pairs with phone, works to 33 ftCompatibilityPhones, action cameras and 360 cameras

The EUCOS is the tripod for people whose camera is a phone, and 23,000 owners rate it 4.6 stars. It is a selfie stick that becomes a 62-inch tripod in one sliding motion, built from a tough modified nylon rather than thin aluminum, with a phone clamp that takes anything from 2.2 to 3.6 inches wide and a cold shoe on top for a small light or microphone. The wireless remote pairs with the phone and triggers photos and video from up to 33 feet, which is what makes solo vlogs, dance clips and group shots possible. It also carries action cameras and 360 cameras through their standard mounts. It is not for a camera body, it is light enough to blow over at full height outdoors, and the head is simpler than a tripod’s 3-way unit. For TikTok, Reels and FaceTime it is the obvious buy, and EUCOS backs it with lifetime protection.

Pros
  • 23,000 owners at 4.6 stars
  • Tripod and selfie stick in one piece that extends in a single slide
  • Cold shoe for a light or microphone
  • Remote fires the phone from 33 feet; lifetime protection
Cons
  • Built for phones and small action cameras, not for a camera body
  • Light enough to tip in wind at full height
  • No tilt adjustment comparable to a real tripod head

VAZESWIN 5-in-1 Suction Cup Car Camera Mount for GoPro Insta360 DJI Cameras
BaseFive 3.5-inch suction cups in a triangular layout with twist locksArm6061-T6 aluminum telescopic pole, 16.7 to 43.3 inches, three sizesHead1-inch ball double-socket arm in 3.5 and 5.9-inch lengthsThread1/4-inch female plus a 1/4-20 tripod adapterModes5-in-1: outside car, inside car, handheld pole and moreCompatibilityGoPro, Insta360, DJI and any small camera with a 1/4-inch thread

The VAZESWIN is the mount for footage that a tripod cannot get: a 360 camera above the roof, a GoPro on the hood or an Insta360 following the car from the side. Five 3.5-inch suction cups lock onto paint or glass in a rigid triangle, a 6061-T6 aluminum pole extends from 16.7 to 43.3 inches in three locking sections, and a 1-inch ball double-socket arm in two lengths lets you aim the camera anywhere; it accepts anything with a 1/4-inch thread via the included adapter. Take it apart and the same parts become an interior mount or a handheld pole, hence the 5-in-1 name. It is built for action and 360 cameras, not for a DSLR, it needs clean, smooth surfaces and a careful test pull before driving, and it costs more than any tripod on this page. For car content, 800 owners at 4.5 stars say it is the rig to get, and our action cameras guide covers what to put on it.

Pros
  • Five large suction cups for a stable triangular base
  • Aircraft-grade aluminum pole extends to 43 inches
  • Works inside or outside the car and as a handheld pole
  • 800 owners at 4.5 stars
Cons
  • Only for small cameras; not a DSLR mount
  • Suction needs clean, smooth paint or glass
  • Priced above every tripod here

How tall does a tripod need to be?

Eye level for a standing adult is roughly 60 to 66 inches to the camera, and a tripod head adds a few inches, so a 50-inch tripod like the Amazon Basics means stooping or shooting from chest height, which is fine for landscapes and still life and awkward for interviews and portraits. The 74- and 75-inch VICTIV, JOILCAN and K&F reach eye level with the center column down or barely raised, which is how you should use them, because a fully extended center column is the wobbliest part of any budget tripod. Height costs weight and folded length, so if the tripod rides in a carry-on, the K&F at 19.6 inches folded or the Amazon Basics at 16.9 are the ones that fit.

Heads, plates and what they will hold

Every tripod here has a 3-way pan head: separate controls for pan, tilt and portrait flip, which is slower to frame than a ball head but easier to keep level, and better for video pans with the handle on the VICTIV. All four have quick-release plates, and the VICTIV and JOILCAN include spares, which matters if you switch between a camera and a phone. On load, none of these are rated for heavy glass; a compact, a mirrorless body with a kit lens or an entry DSLR with an 18-55mm is the comfortable range. A 70-300mm zoom on a full-frame body will droop on any of them. Hang a bag from the center column hook if there is one, keep the legs spread fully, and weight is your friend in wind.

Phones, remotes and the car

The EUCOS and the K&F ship with wireless remotes, and both are made for phones: the remote pairs over Bluetooth and fires the camera app from a distance, which is what you need for self-filming and group shots. They will not trigger most dedicated cameras, which use their own remotes or an interval timer. For a phone or action camera the EUCOS cold shoe is a real advantage, since a small LED light or microphone mounts straight on it. The VAZESWIN is a different tool: a suction mount for the outside of a car, aimed at action and 360 cameras, where the five-cup base and the aluminum pole do what no tripod can. Test the suction on clean paint before every drive, and never trust it above the speeds the manufacturer recommends.

Which tripod is best for a DSLR or mirrorless camera?

The VICTIV or JOILCAN 74-inch tripods for eye-level shooting with a kit lens, or the K&F Concept 75-inch if you also travel. The Amazon Basics 50-inch suits a compact or a small mirrorless body. None of these are built for long telephoto lenses.

Can I use a camera tripod with my phone?

Yes. The VICTIV, JOILCAN and K&F include phone holders that screw onto the quick-release plate, and the Amazon Basics takes any standard phone adapter. The EUCOS is made for phones from the start and includes a remote.

What is a quick-release plate?

A small plate that stays screwed to the camera and clicks into the tripod head, so you attach and remove the camera in a second. All four tripods here have one; the VICTIV and JOILCAN include a spare.

Is a 50-inch tripod tall enough?

For landscapes, products, time-lapses and anything shot sitting down, yes. For interviews, portraits and standing video you will want 70 inches or more, which is why the VICTIV, JOILCAN and K&F exist. Avoid extending the center column fully on any budget tripod.

Will the VAZESWIN suction mount hold a DSLR?

It is designed for GoPro, Insta360 and DJI action and 360 cameras and small cameras with a 1/4-inch thread. A DSLR is too heavy for a pole on suction cups at speed. Mount only small cameras, test the suction before driving and keep to sensible speeds.
