Best Sewing Machine Carrying Cases in 2026: Totes and Rolling Cases Ranked by Owners

Eight sewing machine carrying cases ranked by padding, fit, wheels and owner reviews: HOMEST Deluxe rolling and tote, SINGER tote, TLBTEK canvas, Teamoy, AMOIGEE dolly, Yarwo, Everything Mary XL.

Our top pickHOMEST Deluxe Sewing Machine Case with W…9.6Our score

A sewing machine is heavy, awkward and expensive, and the handle on top was designed for carrying it across a room, not across a parking lot to a quilting class. A proper carrying case pads the machine, holds the pedal and cord and the box of bobbins you always forget, and, on the rolling models, takes the 15 pounds off your shoulder. We ranked the sewing machine cases in our crafts catalog by interior size and which machines fit, padding and whether the base has a stiff board, how it carries (handles, strap, wheels or a detachable dolly), pocket layout, and what thousands of owners report after months of hauling a machine to classes, retreats and the car.

We have not loaded every case with a machine ourselves; the verdicts rest on the spec sheets and on the owner review history. Prices are not printed because they change daily; every button opens the live Amazon page. If you are still choosing the machine, our sewing machines for beginners and sewing machines for quilting guides cover that side. This is a Do Best Deal owner-history ranking.

How we picked

  • Interior size published. Every pick states its inside dimensions, and we list them, because a case that is an inch too short is useless.
  • Real padding. Padded sidewalls and a cushioned or boarded base; thin dust covers were left out even when the listing called them a case.
  • Carry options. At least a handle and a shoulder strap; four picks add wheels, and two of those let you detach the bag from the trolley.
  • Pockets for the rest. Space for the pedal, cord, manual and notions, since the machine is never the only thing you carry.
  • Owner history. Every pick holds a strong or excellent owner rating across hundreds to thousands of owner reviews; the top two are the most-reviewed cases in the catalog.

HOMEST Deluxe Sewing Machine Case with Wheels, Rolling Trolley Tote
FitsMachines up to 17 x 8 x 12 inches; SINGER, Brother, Janome standard sizesCarryWheels and trolley handle, carry handle, adjustable shoulder strapPaddingPadded sidewalls, extra cushioned bottom, padded pocketsMaterialHeavy-duty nylon with clear PVC pocketsStorageThread spool holders, multiple custom pockets, hook and loop machine strapWarranty2 yearsOur score9.6/10

The HOMEST Deluxe is the case most sewists end up with, and the owner history is the strongest on this page. Inside it is 17 by 8 by 12 inches, enough for a standard SINGER, Brother or Janome, with padded walls, an extra-cushioned floor and a hook-and-loop strap that stops the machine shifting. Outside it is heavy nylon with a trolley handle and wheels, a carry handle and an adjustable shoulder strap, so you roll it across the lot and carry it up the steps. The pockets are the detail owners mention: clear PVC fronts, built-in spool holders and room for the pedal and cord. It is widely praised by owners for protection and for HOMEST honouring its two-year warranty; most owner complaints mention the small wheels on rough ground and the bulk when not in use. For class, retreat or guild it is the one to buy.

Pros
  • Excellent owner rating from the largest review base of any case here
  • Wheels plus a strap, so it works on pavement and on stairs
  • Spool holders and clear pockets keep notions visible
  • Two-year warranty from a brand that answers
Cons
  • Trolley adds weight and bulk when stored
  • Not for machines over 17 inches wide
  • Wheels are small and struggle on gravel

HOMEST Sewing Machine Carrying Case, Universal Tote Bag with Shoulder Strap
FitsMachines up to 17 x 8 x 12 inchesCarryCarry handle and adjustable shoulder strapPaddingPadded sidewalls, extra cushioned bottom, padded front pocketsMaterialHeavy-duty nylon, full zipStorage2 front pockets for pedal, cord and notionsWeightLightweightOur score9.6/10

The plain HOMEST tote is the Deluxe with the trolley removed, and for a machine that mostly travels to the car and back it is the better buy. The interior is the same 17 by 8 by 12 inches, the walls and floor are padded, and two padded front pockets take the pedal, cord and a notion pouch. It zips fully open across the top so the machine lowers in rather than being wrestled through a slot, and there is a handle plus an adjustable shoulder strap. Owners widely praise the protection for the price and how light the bag is; most owner complaints mention that a 15-pound machine on one shoulder gets old across a campus, and that the bottom has no stiff board. If you need wheels, go up one; if you need a board, see the Teamoy below.

Pros
  • Same padding and fit as the Deluxe for far less
  • Light enough to carry on a shoulder with the machine inside
  • Excellent owner rating from a very large review base
  • Full zip opening makes loading easy
Cons
  • No wheels, so your shoulder carries the weight
  • Two pockets only; no spool holders
  • No board in the base, so set it down flat

SINGER Machine Carrying Tote Bag for Sewing Machines & Sergers, Cream/Red
FitsMost standard SINGER portable sewing machines and sergersCarryPadded handlesPaddingFull interior paddingMaterialSturdy canvas, cream and redStorageLarge zippered front pocketCareSpot clean with damp cloth and mild detergentOur score9.4/10

SINGER makes the machine, so it makes the tote to fit it, and the useful difference from the HOMEST bags is the shape: this one accommodates a serger, which is taller and deeper than a sewing machine, as well as a standard portable SINGER. The canvas is sturdy, the interior is fully padded, and the front pocket is big enough for the serger thread cones that never fit anywhere else. It carries by padded handles. Owners widely praise the fit on SINGER machines and sergers and the cream-and-red look; most owner complaints mention the lack of a shoulder strap and SINGER not publishing interior measurements, which makes it a gamble for other brands. For a SINGER household with a serger it is the easy pick.

Pros
  • Shaped to take a serger as well as a flatbed machine
  • Canvas and full interior padding from the machine brand itself
  • Strong owner rating; the look is widely praised
  • Big zippered front pocket for thread cones and tools
Cons
  • Handles only; no shoulder strap or wheels
  • No published inside dimensions, so measure against a SINGER
  • Spot-clean canvas shows marks

TLBTEK Rose Red Sewing Machine Carrying Case,Universal Canvas Carry Tote Bag,Portable Padded Storage Dust Cover with Pockets for Sewing Machine
FitsInterior 18 x 13 x 8.9 inchesCarryCushioned carry strap; hand, shoulder or trolley handlePaddingRemovable padded bottom padMaterialWrinkle-resistant canvas, floral printStorageLarge front pocket for feet, cord and bobbin casesOur score9.4/10

The TLBTEK tote is the budget pick and a sensible one. The interior is 18 by 13 by 8.9 inches, an inch wider than the HOMEST, so it takes a slightly bigger machine, and a removable padded pad sits under the machine to take the knocks. The canvas is wrinkle-resistant with a rose print, the carry strap is cushioned, and the bag can be held by hand, slung on a shoulder or slipped over a suitcase handle. The front pocket holds feet, cord and bobbin cases. Owners widely praise the price and the room; most owner complaints mention that the side walls are canvas rather than padded, so it protects from dust and bumps rather than drops. For storage between projects and the occasional class it does the job.

Pros
  • Lowest price here with a strong owner rating
  • Eighteen-inch interior takes slightly wider machines
  • Removable bottom pad and a cushioned strap
  • Three carry positions including over a suitcase handle
Cons
  • Walls are canvas, not padded like the HOMEST
  • One pocket
  • The print is not for everyone

Teamoy Sewing Machine Carrying Case with Bottom Wooden Board Pad, Dandelion
FitsInterior 16.3 x 8.5 x 13 inches; Brother, Singer, Janome standardCarryCarry handle, removable adjustable shoulder strap, suitcase bandPaddingDetachable wooden bottom board padMaterialHeavy-duty scratch-resistant nylon, two-way full zippersStorageSeveral pockets for thread, needles, scissors, bobbinsOur score9.6/10

The Teamoy adds the one thing the HOMEST tote lacks: a detachable wooden board in the floor, which keeps the machine level, stops the bag folding when you set it down, and spreads the weight when you lift. Inside it is 16.3 by 8.5 by 13 inches, so measure a wider Janome first, and the shell is scratch-resistant nylon with two-way zippers that open the bag fully. It carries by handle or a removable padded shoulder strap, and a band on the back slides over a suitcase handle for airport travel. Pockets take thread, needles, scissors and bobbins. Owners widely praise the board and the build; most owner complaints mention the snug interior and the single print. Among the totes it has the best owner rating, tied with the HOMEST pair.

Pros
  • Wooden board in the base keeps the machine level and the bag square
  • Excellent owner rating
  • Two-way zippers and a band to ride on a suitcase handle
  • Several pockets rather than one or two
Cons
  • 16.3-inch interior is the tightest of the totes
  • No wheels
  • Dandelion print only in this listing

#69.0Our score
AMOIGEE Full-Open Rolling Sewing Machine Case with Wheels& Detachable Dolly
FitsInterior 17 x 9.5 x 13 inches; Brother, Singer, JanomeCarryFoldable detachable dolly with wheels, or tote on its ownOpeningFront panel opens fully for loadingPaddingThick padding; adjustable hook-and-loop machine strapMaterialTear-resistant nylonStorageClear zip pockets, two side pockets, top tool storageOur score9.0/10

The AMOIGEE answers two complaints about the HOMEST Deluxe. First, the front panel opens fully, so you slide the machine in from the side instead of lowering it from above. Second, the wheels are on a separate folding dolly: use it as a rolling case, or unclip the bag and carry it, and the dolly folds flat into a cupboard or trunk. The interior is 17 by 9.5 by 13 inches, deeper than the HOMEST, with thick padding and a hook-and-loop strap over the machine. Clear zip pockets, two side pockets and a top compartment take the pedal, cord and notions. Owners widely praise the full-open loading and the detachable trolley; most owner complaints mention the newer brand and the two-piece design being more to manage. For someone who alternates driving and walking it is the more flexible rolling option.

Pros
  • Front opens flat so the machine slides in rather than drops in
  • Dolly detaches and folds for the car trunk
  • Deeper 9.5-inch interior than the HOMEST
  • Clear pockets for spools and bobbins; strong owner rating
Cons
  • Newer brand with a shorter track record
  • Two-piece system means two things to keep track of
  • Dolly wheels are basic

#79.0Our score
Yarwo Upgraded Rolling Sewing Machine Carrying Case with Detachable Board
FitsInterior 15.7 x 7.5 x 11.5 inches; Singer, Brother, Janome standardCarryCollapsible detachable trolley with dual wheels and telescoping handle, reinforced handles, padded shoulder strapPaddingRemovable bottom board pad plus inner paddingMaterialSturdy nylonStorageMultiple pockets for notionsOur score9.0/10

The Yarwo is the rolling case for a compact or lightweight machine. Its interior is 15.7 by 7.5 by 11.5 inches, the smallest here, which suits a Brother CS or a small Singer but not a wide Janome, so check your machine before ordering. In return it is compact outside, with a removable board in the base, inner padding, reinforced handles, a padded shoulder strap and a collapsible trolley with a telescoping handle and two wheels that detaches when you want a plain tote. Owners widely praise the three carry options and the board; most owner complaints are from people whose machine turned out to be too big, which is a measurement problem rather than a case problem. For the right machine it is a good rolling case at a tote price.

Pros
  • Three ways to carry: handles, strap or trolley
  • Removable floor board protects against drops
  • Trolley collapses and detaches; strong owner rating
  • Compact outside for a rolling case
Cons
  • 15.7-inch interior rules out many full-size machines
  • Fewer reviews than the HOMEST
  • Dual-wheel trolley is lighter duty than a four-wheel case

Everything Mary XL Rolling Sewing Machine Case - Black Craft Bag with 4 Wheels - Portable Organizer
FitsInterior 19.5 x 10.5 x 14 inches; exterior 22 x 13.5 x 17.75Carry4 spinner wheels, 360-degreePaddingReinforced structure, cushioned interiorMaterialPolyester shell, zipper closureStorageSpacious compartments for tools and fabricOur score8.6/10

The Everything Mary XL is the only case here for a wide quilting machine: 19.5 by 10.5 by 14 inches inside, which swallows machines the HOMEST and Yarwo cannot, with spare room for a fabric bundle and a tool roll. Four 360-degree spinner wheels roll it like a suitcase, the structure is reinforced and the interior cushioned, and the polyester shell zips closed. Owners widely praise the capacity and the spinner wheels for guild meetings and retreats; it has the weakest owner rating here, and most owner complaints mention the zipper and the wheels on rough ground, plus the price and the size when stored. If your machine is simply too big for everything else, it is the answer; if not, the HOMEST Deluxe is the better rolling case.

Pros
  • The biggest interior here; takes wide quilting machines
  • Four spinner wheels roll like luggage
  • Room for fabric and tools alongside the machine
  • Strong owner rating for an XL case
Cons
  • Priciest case on the page
  • Big and heavy even when empty
  • Weakest owner rating here; zipper and wheel complaints appear

Measure the machine before anything else

Every return in this category is a size mismatch. Measure your machine with the handle down and the pedal off: width across the base, depth front to back, and height to the top of the spool pin. Add half an inch each way. A standard Brother or Singer is about 16 by 7 by 12 inches and fits everything here except the Yarwo if it is on the wide side. A Janome HD or a quilting machine with a wide bed can be 18 or more inches across and needs the TLBTEK or the Everything Mary XL. The SINGER tote publishes no inside dimensions, which is fine if your machine is a SINGER and a gamble if it is not.

Tote or wheels

A tote is lighter, cheaper and stores flat, and if the machine goes from the sewing room to the car and from the car to a table, it is all you need; the HOMEST tote, Teamoy and TLBTEK are the picks. Wheels earn their bulk when there is a walk: a campus, a convention hall, a hotel corridor. The HOMEST Deluxe builds the trolley in; the AMOIGEE and Yarwo put it on a detachable dolly so you can leave it in the trunk; the Everything Mary rolls on four spinners like luggage. The dolly designs are the compromise most people are happiest with, because a rolling case with no wheels needed is just a heavy tote.

Padding, boards and what actually protects a machine

A sewing machine does not break from a bump on the side; it breaks from a drop onto its base, which knocks the timing out. That is why a stiff floor matters more than thick walls. The Teamoy and Yarwo put a removable board in the base, the TLBTEK a padded pad, and the HOMEST cases an extra-cushioned floor. The AMOIGEE and HOMEST add a hook-and-loop strap over the machine so it cannot slide inside the bag, which is the other way machines get hurt. None of these cases is a hard shell, and none should be checked on a plane; for that you want the machine’s original box or a hard case from the manufacturer.

Will a universal sewing machine case fit my machine?

Only if the published interior is bigger than your machine in all three directions. The HOMEST, Teamoy, TLBTEK, AMOIGEE, Yarwo and Everything Mary cases all state their inside size; compare it with your machine measured with the handle down and the pedal removed.

Do I need a case with wheels?

Only if you walk with the machine. For the car and back, a padded tote like the HOMEST or Teamoy is lighter and cheaper. For classes, guilds and retreats with a walk from the car, the HOMEST Deluxe, AMOIGEE or Yarwo rolling cases save your shoulder.

Can I fly with a sewing machine in one of these cases?

As carry-on, sometimes, if the case fits the airline sizer; the HOMEST tote and Teamoy are the smallest. Never check a machine in a soft case; it will arrive with the timing knocked out. Use the original box or a hard case for checked luggage.

Which case fits a serger?

The SINGER tote is shaped for sergers as well as sewing machines. Of the others, the Everything Mary XL has the height and depth for most sergers; measure first, as sergers are taller than they look.

Do these cases protect against dust at home?

Yes. Any of them doubles as a dust cover between projects, and the TLBTEK is sold as both. Leave the zipper slightly open if the room is humid so moisture does not sit inside.
