Alexa, Google, HomeKit and Matter

None of them support Apple HomeKit or Matter, so Apple Home users should look elsewhere, and they will not join a Matter fabric on a Samsung or Apple hub. Alexa and Google users lose nothing. 15 A or 10 A, and why 2.4 GHz matters
A US wall outlet supplies 15 A at 120 V, or 1,800 W. The basic Govee plug is rated 10 A and 1,200 W, which is plenty for lamps, fans, TVs and chargers. Space heaters, window air conditioners, dehumidifiers and most coffee makers pull close to 1,500 W and need a 15 A plug: the energy-monitoring plug or the Dual. All Govee plugs connect only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. If your router combines 2.4 and 5 GHz under one name, the Bluetooth-assisted setup usually sorts it out; if it fails, set up the plug while standing near the router or split the bands for ten minutes.
Do these need a hub?
No. Every plug here talks straight to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and to the Govee Home app over Bluetooth during setup. Alexa and Google control comes through the Govee skill, with no extra hardware.
Can I run a space heater on a smart plug?
Only on a 15 A plug: the Govee Energy Monitoring plug or the Dual plug. The basic Govee plug is rated 10 A / 1,200 W and most heaters draw 1,500 W. Plug a heater directly into the wall rather than an extender, and never daisy-chain plugs.
Will schedules keep working if the internet goes down?
Schedules are stored on the plug and run on their own once set, so a lamp timer keeps working through an outage. Voice control and remote control from outside the house need the internet.
What if a plug will not connect, can I return it?
Govee plugs sold by Amazon fall under the standard 30-day return window in the US. Before returning, make sure the phone is on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is on; that fixes nearly all failed setups reported in owner reviews.
