Best Vacuum Storage Bags in 2026: Closet, Bedding and Travel Compression Bags Ranked by Owners

Eight vacuum storage bag sets ranked by bag count and sizes, pump type, seal and owner reviews: Spacesaver, Fygrip, Vacbird, 15-pack and Nicetree cordless kits, 18 Combo, VMstr USB, UPGOGO.

Our top pickSpacesaver Vacuum Storage Bags with Elec…8.8Our score

A vacuum storage bag turns a shelf of winter duvets into a flat slab, fits a week of clothes into a carry-on, and keeps moths, dust and damp away from whatever is inside. The good ones hold their seal for months; the bad ones slowly re-inflate in the closet. We ranked the vacuum storage and compression bags in our home and kitchen catalog by how many bags you get and in which sizes, whether the pump is a hand pump, a USB pump or a rechargeable cordless unit, the material and zipper design, how well the valve holds, and what thousands of owners report after a season of packing and storing.

We have not packed every set ourselves; the verdicts rest on the spec sheets and on the owner review history. Prices are not printed because they change daily; every button opens the live Amazon page. If you are buying for a trip, pair this guide with our carry-on luggage and travel duffel bags guides, since the bag sizes below are matched to those suitcases.

How we picked

  • A pump in the box. Every set includes a way to compress without a vacuum cleaner: a hand pump on the storage sets, a USB or rechargeable cordless pump on the travel sets.
  • Useful sizes. Jumbo and extra-large bags for duvets and pillows; small, medium and large bags sized to carry-on and checked suitcases for travel.
  • A seal that lasts. Double zippers and a one-way valve, with PA+PE film on the travel sets; owners were checked for complaints about slow leaks.
  • Enough bags. Nine to eighteen per kit, so one purchase covers a closet or a whole trip.
  • Owner ratings of 4.2 stars or better, with the top picks backed by thousands of reviews.

Best vacuum storage bags for closets and bedding

Spacesaver Vacuum Storage Bags with Electric Pump, Variety, 10 Pack

Spacesaver Vacuum Storage Bags with Electric Pump, Variety, 10 Pack
Bags10: 2 small, 2 medium, 3 large, 3 extra-largePumpIncluded pump; also works with any standard vacuum cleanerMaterialStrong PA+PE film, tear and puncture resistantSealDouble zip and triple-seal one-way valveSavesUp to 80 percent of storage spaceUseComforters, duvets, clothes, seasonal storage, moving

Spacesaver is the brand that made vacuum storage bags a household item, and this 10-pack variety set is the one to buy for a closet or an under-bed drawer. You get two small, two medium, three large and three extra-large bags, which covers everything from sweaters to a king comforter, in a thick PA+PE film that resists tears and punctures through repeated use. The double zipper and triple-seal one-way valve are the reason owners say these stay flat for months where cheaper bags slowly puff back up, and 4,000 of them rate the set 4.4 stars. A pump is included, but the valve fits any standard vacuum hose, which is the quick way to flatten a duvet. The bags are stiffer than the travel kits below, so they are made for a shelf rather than a suitcase, and the big bags take patience with the hand pump. For long-term storage it is the benchmark.

Pros
  • Four sizes including extra-large for comforters
  • Triple-seal valve holds vacuum well, per owners
  • Works with a home vacuum for fast compression
  • 4,000 owners at 4.4 stars
Cons
  • Only two small bags in the mix
  • Bags are stiffer than the travel sets and fold less neatly in a suitcase
  • Hand pumping the extra-large bags is slow; use the vacuum

Best budget jumbo bags for comforters

Fygrip 80% Space Saver Vacuum Storage Bags with Hand Pump, 10 Jumbo

Fygrip 80% Space Saver Vacuum Storage Bags with Hand Pump, 10 Jumbo
Bags10 jumboPumpHand pump included; valve fits a vacuum cleanerMaterialThick plastic, double-zipper closureSealTriple-seal one-way valveSavesUp to 80 percent of spaceUseBedding, blankets, bulky clothing, moving

If what you need to store is ten comforters, pillows or winter coats, the Fygrip set is the cheapest way to do it: ten jumbo bags, each with a double zipper and a triple-seal valve, plus a hand pump for when the vacuum is not handy. More than 8,300 owners have rated it, the most of any set on this page, and at 4.2 stars most are pleased with how much bedding disappears into a flat slab under the bed. The score is a little lower than the Spacesaver because a minority report bags that lose some vacuum over a few months, which in practice means a quick top-up with the vacuum hose when you rotate seasons. There are no small or medium bags, so this is a bedding set rather than a wardrobe set, and the hand pump is strictly a backup. For moving house, a cabin closet or a kid heading to a dorm with a duvet, it is excellent value.

Pros
  • Ten jumbo bags for very little money
  • The most-reviewed set here: 8,300 owners
  • Double zipper and triple-seal valve
  • Hand pump travels; vacuum does the heavy work at home
Cons
  • 4.2 stars; a few owners report slow leaks
  • All one size, no small bags for clothes
  • Hand pump is tedious on a jumbo bag

Best travel vacuum bags overall

Vacbird Travel Vacuum Bags with Rechargeable Pump, Carry-On Space Saver

Vacbird Travel Vacuum Bags with Rechargeable Pump, Carry-On Space Saver
Bags15 in three sizes: 15.8 x 19.7, 15.8 x 23.6 and 19.7 x 23.6 inchesPumpRechargeable cordless, 1500mAh, about 90 compressions per charge, USB chargingSuction4000Pa with 140 L/min airflow; bag done in 10 to 15 secondsMaterialSemi-transparent PA+PE, dual zipper, tear resistantSavesUp to 80 percent of luggage volumePump sizeSlim and light, fits a backpack pocket

The Vacbird kit is the travel set that most people have seen on social media, and it earns its place: 15 PA+PE bags in three sizes proportioned to fit a carry-on or a checked case, and a slim rechargeable pump that shrinks a bag in 10 to 15 seconds and does about 90 bags per charge from any USB port. The bags are semi-transparent so you can find the socks without opening everything, the dual zipper seals reliably, and Vacbird claims up to 80 percent volume savings, which owners confirm for soft clothing like fleece and knitwear. It rates 4.3 stars from 6,300 reviews. The usual caveats apply to every travel kit: the valve is sized for the little pump rather than a vacuum hose, the film is thinner than home-storage bags, and compressed clothes arrive creased. Weigh your bag after packing; compression saves space, not pounds.

Pros
  • Cordless pump charges from a laptop or power bank anywhere
  • Three bag sizes matched to carry-on and checked luggage
  • Semi-transparent bags let you see what is inside
  • 6,300 owners at 4.3 stars
Cons
  • Pump is the weak link if it fails; no vacuum-hose fallback on the travel valve
  • Bags are thinner than the home-storage sets
  • Compressed clothes come out creased

15 Packs Vacuum Bags for Travel with Rechargeable Pump, 3 Sizes Heavy Duty Vacuum Seal Bags for Clothing, Compression Vacuum Travel Bags for Luggage, Vacuum Packing Bags for Closet Organization
Bags16 total: 5 small, 5 medium, 5 large plus 1 extra largePumpRechargeable cordless 1500mAh, about 90 compressions, USB chargingSuction4500Pa with 140 L/min airflowSizesS 15.7 x 19.7, M 15.7 x 23.6, L 19.7 x 23.6 inchesDesignSide-opening zippers for easier loadingMaterialHeavy-duty PA+PE, double zipper

This 15-plus-one kit is the best-rated travel set here at 4.4 stars from 1,800 owners, and it improves on the Vacbird formula in two ways. The bags open along the long side rather than the top, which makes sliding in a folded stack of shirts much easier, and the cordless pump pulls 4500Pa rather than 4000Pa, so each bag flattens a little faster. You get five small, five medium and five large bags plus a spare large, in heavy-duty PA+PE film with double zippers, and the 1500mAh pump manages about 90 compressions per USB charge with a pouch to keep it clean. The sizes match the Vacbird almost exactly, so the same bags fit a carry-on and a checked case. It is a generic brand with a shorter track record, and there is no bedding-sized bag, but as a complete travel compression kit it is the one we would buy first.

Pros
  • Side-opening bags are easier to load than top loaders
  • Stronger 4500Pa pump than the Vacbird
  • Sixteen bags including a spare large
  • 1,800 owners at 4.4 stars
Cons
  • Generic brand with less history than Vacbird
  • Largest bag is still carry-on sized; no bedding size
  • Semi-see-through rather than fully clear

Best travel kit with the biggest battery and largest bags

Nicetree 17-Pack Vacuum Bags for Travel with Rechargeable Pump, 3 Sizes

4.4 · 1,107 ratings
8.8Our score
Nicetree 17-Pack Vacuum Bags for Travel with Rechargeable Pump, 3 Sizes
Bags17 in three sizes: S 15.8 x 19.7, M 18.5 x 23.6, L 21.3 x 27.6 inchesPumpRechargeable 1850mAh, Type-C charging, full charge in 1.5 hours, 100-plus compressionsSuction4500PaMaterialThick PA+PE with double-zip sealsSavesUp to 80 percent of luggage spaceUseCarry-ons, suitcases, blankets and pillows

The Nicetree kit stands out for its sizes and its pump. The large bag measures 21.3 by 27.6 inches, bigger than any other travel bag here and large enough for a throw blanket, pillows or a puffer coat, while the small and medium cover shirts and sweaters. The pump is the best in this group: an 1850mAh battery charged over Type-C in about 1.5 hours, good for more than 100 compressions at 4500Pa, which means it will outlast a long trip without needing a power bank. Seventeen bags in thick PA+PE with double zippers round out the box, and 1,100 owners rate it 4.4 stars. It has fewer reviews than the Vacbird and the biggest bags are better suited to a checked case or home storage than a carry-on, but if you want one kit that handles both a suitcase and the linen closet, this is the most versatile.

Pros
  • Largest bags of any travel kit here, big enough for a blanket
  • Type-C pump with the biggest battery and fastest charge
  • Seventeen bags for the money
  • 1,100 owners at 4.4 stars
Cons
  • Fewer reviews than the Vacbird
  • Large bags may be too big for a carry-on
  • Thick film adds a little weight to the suitcase

Best kit for carry-on and backpack travel

Travel Vacuum Bags for Clothing with Cordless Pump 18 Combo, Clear

4.3 · 2,751 ratings
8.6Our score
Travel Vacuum Bags for Clothing with Cordless Pump 18 Combo, Clear
Bags18: 6 small, 6 medium, 6 largeSizesS 15.8 x 15.8 in for backpacks, M 15.8 x 19.7 for 20-inch carry-ons, L 15.8 x 23.6 for 20 to 28-inch luggagePumpRechargeable cordless 1500mAh, about 90 compressions, 4000PaDesignLong-side opening, double zipperMaterialClear filmSavesUp to 80 percent of volume

This 18-bag combo is built around smaller sizes than its rivals, which makes it the right kit for carry-on-only travelers and backpackers. Six small bags at 15.8 inches square fit a daypack or the corners of a suitcase, six medium bags suit a 20-inch carry-on and six large fit 20 to 28-inch luggage, all opening along the long side with double zippers so clothes slide in flat. The film is fully clear, so there is no guessing which bag holds the socks, and the 1500mAh cordless pump does about 90 bags per charge at 4000Pa. Owners rate it 4.3 stars from 2,800 reviews and praise how much a week of clothes shrinks in a carry-on. There is nothing here for bedding, the clear film shows creases and scuffs sooner than the frosted bags, and the pump is a step slower than the 4500Pa kits, but for light travel the sizing is ideal.

Pros
  • Eighteen bags, the most in any kit here
  • Smallest bags are sized for backpacks and daypacks
  • Clear bags make contents obvious
  • 2,800 owners at 4.3 stars
Cons
  • No bag larger than carry-on size
  • Clear film shows wear and creases
  • 4000Pa pump is slower than the 4500Pa kits

VMstr 15 Pack Travel Vacuum Storage Bags with USB Pump, Vacuum Packing Seal for Luggage and Suitcase, Space Saver for Clothes and Clothing Travel
Bags15: 5 small, 5 medium, 5 largeSizesS 15.8 x 15.8, M 15.8 x 19.7, L 15.8 x 23.6 inchesPumpUSB-powered corded pump; runs from a power bank or laptopDesignLong-side openingMaterialPA+PE filmUseCarry-ons and suitcases

The VMstr set takes a different approach to the pump: instead of a battery, it is a small corded unit that plugs into any USB port, so you compress from a power bank, a laptop or a wall adapter. That means there is no battery to go flat in year two, at the cost of needing a power source next to the suitcase. The 15 bags come in the same carry-on-friendly sizes as the 18 Combo, with long-side openings and PA+PE film, and 2,400 owners rate the kit 4.3 stars. It suits travelers who already carry a power bank and prefer fewer things to charge. The bag count is lower than the 17 and 18-bag kits, there is no large bedding bag, and compression takes a little longer than the cordless 4500Pa pumps. As a simple, reliable travel compression set with a pump that will not die, it is a sound choice.

Pros
  • USB pump has no battery to die or degrade
  • Same practical sizes as the 18 Combo
  • Side opening makes loading easy
  • 2,400 owners at 4.3 stars
Cons
  • Needs a power bank or laptop at hand to compress
  • Smaller bag count than the 17 and 18-bag kits
  • No bedding size

UPGOGO Travel Vacuum Bags for Luggage with Portable Electric Pump,Vacuum Seal Bags for Clothing,Packing Cubes Compression,Cruise Ship and Travel Essentials(Combo 9 Pack)
Bags9: 3 extra-small, 3 small, 3 mediumSizesXS 11.8 x 14.5, S 19.7 x 13.8, M 23.6 x 15.7 inchesPumpRechargeable 1500mAh cordless, 15 to 20 minutes of runtime, about 90 bags, USB chargingSuction4500Pa with a double-click travel lockMaterialReinforced PE+PA, tear resistantSavesUp to 80 percent of space

The UPGOGO combo is the small starter kit: nine bags in extra-small, small and medium sizes plus a 1500mAh cordless pump, at the lowest price of any cordless set here. The extra-small 11.8 by 14.5-inch bag is a size none of the other kits include and is handy for underwear, swimwear or a toiletry overflow, and the pump pulls 4500Pa with a double-click travel lock so it cannot turn itself on in a backpack and drain. Compression is fast and the reinforced PE+PA film has held up for most of the 3,100 reviewers, who give it 4.2 stars, a touch below the bigger kits with some reports of valves that need a second seating. There is no large bag, so coats and blankets are out, and nine bags will not cover a family trip. For one person testing whether vacuum packing suits them, or for a weekend bag, it is a cheap way to find out.

Pros
  • Pump has a travel lock so it cannot switch on in a bag
  • Extra-small bags for underwear and toiletries
  • Cheapest cordless kit here
  • 3,100 owners at 4.2 stars
Cons
  • Only nine bags
  • 4.2 stars, the lowest of the travel kits
  • No large bag for coats or blankets

Storage bags or travel bags?

They look alike but are built differently. Storage sets (Spacesaver, Fygrip) use thicker film, come in jumbo and extra-large sizes for duvets and pillows, and have a wide valve that fits a household vacuum hose, which is the fast way to flatten bedding. They are stiff and bulky when empty, so they are poor in a suitcase. Travel sets (everything from the Vacbird down) use thinner, flexible PA+PE film in carry-on sizes, a small valve that mates with a pocket pump, and side or top zippers made for loading folded clothes. Use travel bags at home if you like, but do not expect a travel pump to make quick work of a king comforter.

Choosing a pump

A hand pump is free, light and slow; it is fine for a few small bags and painful on a jumbo. A household vacuum compresses a storage bag in seconds but is not coming on holiday. The travel kits split into corded USB pumps (VMstr) that need a power bank or laptop at hand but have no battery to wear out, and rechargeable cordless pumps that work anywhere for 90 to 100-plus bags per charge. Among the cordless pumps, suction rating matters a little (4500Pa kits are quicker than 4000Pa) and battery and charging matter more: the Nicetree’s 1850mAh Type-C pump is the best here. A travel lock, as on the UPGOGO, prevents the pump from switching on in your bag.

Getting the most out of them

Fold clothes flat and fill the bag no more than about three quarters, then close the double zipper with the slider all the way to the end; most leaks come from a zipper that was not fully seated. Press the pump firmly onto the valve until the bag is hard, then cap it. Knitwear, fleece, down jackets and bedding compress dramatically; jeans and structured items barely shrink and come out creased. Remember that compression saves space, not weight, so weigh a packed carry-on. For long-term storage, wash and dry items first, add a cedar block or silica packet if you like, and check bags after a month; a bag that has softened needs its valve re-seated and a quick re-pump.

Do vacuum storage bags damage clothes?

Not for most fabrics over a season. Down and wool lose loft if stored compressed for a very long time, so re-fluff them when you unpack, and natural fibers prefer a few weeks of air each year. Leather, structured garments and anything with glue or beading should not be compressed.

Do the travel bags work with a vacuum cleaner?

Usually not. Travel kits use a small valve designed for the included pump, while storage sets such as the Spacesaver and Fygrip have a wider valve that fits a standard vacuum hose. If you want one set for both, the Nicetree kit has the largest bags of the travel group but still relies on its pump.

How long do vacuum bags stay compressed?

A well-sealed bag with a double zipper and a good valve holds for months. Owners of the Spacesaver set report the longest hold; some Fygrip and budget travel bags soften over several weeks and need a quick re-pump. Make sure the zipper slider reaches the very end of the track.

Can vacuum bags go in checked luggage on a plane?

Yes. They are simply sealed plastic bags and airlines and security do not restrict them. Keep in mind that cabin pressure changes can loosen a weak seal slightly, and that compression does not reduce weight, so check your bag against the airline allowance.

Which bag size do I need for a comforter?

A queen or king comforter needs a jumbo or extra-large storage bag such as those in the Spacesaver and Fygrip sets. The travel kits top out around 20 by 24 inches, except the Nicetree large at 21.3 by 27.6 inches, which handles a throw or a twin blanket.
