This base station works great but the app settings don’t work as they should. I have it set not to record animals or vehicles because I have a dog who, when I let him out to take care of his business, runs up and down our porch and, regardless of the settings, it still records him and vehicles driving by our property, so I’m constantly having to delete tons of unnecessary video recordings. As far as wifi connection to the doorbell camera, the base station hasn’t failed us yet but, if you need Arlo tech support, you can only get it by purchasing their app subscription which I feel is unfair. Difficult to get cameras paired to base unit, after several attempts they were paired and have worked well so far.

I traded out mt Blink Security System for this Arlo Smarthub. The image clarity is so much better than Blink. Also, each camera settings are independent from each other, and can be enabled separately which is great it will take some work to find your personal settings to capture videos, and save battery power for your installation, but you will get it.

WARNING!!! DO NOT BUY THIS SMARTHUB!!!I bought this SmartHub in the last part of July of 2022. It worked fine, until the company did some kind of update to the software or firmware or something, which was sometime in late November or early December. The Arlo base works just fine with our Pro 3 cameras. We’ve only had Arlo a little over a year and our initial base already bit the dust causing me to have to shell out even more money for this new base. Their customer service / tech support is awful and they don’t know what they are talking about or doing… The recording isn’t too terribly expensive if you just want the snip-its (I think I pay like $16 a month for all 7 cameras and doorbell) - but it is way more expensive if you want 24/7 constant recording (which I’m not paying for) - and constant recording eats away the battery and extra bat

The functionality of the hub is excellent. It appears to be qulity construction.The problem is finding documentation. I found the Arlo site difficult to use. It expects the user to enter a country but this was impossible. The item did not appear in the dropdown. Customer chat was worthless. Chat GPT finally was able to construct the manual which I ddownloaded as a pdf file. Arlo needs to get its at together.
