I’m totally new to mirrorless cameras, so keep that in mind if I miss anything or don’t explain it fully. I recently purchased both the Canon EOS R6 Mark II and the newer Canon EOS R6 Mark III, and have spent the last few weeks getting familiar with them both. And here’s what I can say with complete confidence—the Mark II holds its ground far more than you might expect.On paper, the Mark III brings some nice upgrades—higher resolution, newer video capabilities, and some other refinements—but in real-world use, the Mark II delivers performance that feels remarkably close to its younger cousin.

I've been using prosumer cameras for 30 years. I decided it was time to replace my 13-year old Canon 7D, and I chose the Canon R6 Mark II. I'm very happy with it. I was considering buying the R8, but when I held it, I realized it was too small to fit comfortably in my hand. (I'm just an average size guy, with average male hands.) Get it. Moved up from Canon 5DS's. Loved the R6II so much, I bought a second one. Astrophotography is the bomb whereas the 5DS wouldn't close the shutter in no pollution areas. Fav feature, changes can be seen in eye viewer cup as you spin the back knob to raise and lower ISO or shutter. I can also preview dark skies to ensure I'm not under exposing.

Great camera with plenty useable function for crisp photos of musical artists. Shoots much faster and has good built in steadiness even for a 75 y/o even in silent mode when shooting in a listening room. Very pleased with it after a year's heavy use. (this wasn't true with the first CanonR I purchased and now never using.
